Can you develope OCD late in life ??.

Because last night I spent 45 minutes building a simple single twisted coil, 45 MINUTES,,,,.
It had to be perfect , not just good or ok but bloody PERFECT.
I don't think perfect in anything exists but I gave it my best shot.
Anyway this is not normal for me, am I going to be alright ?.
Has this happened to y'all...?

It's a phase we all go through. Sometimes it passes but it tends to recur with repeated obsessive shopping requiring new RTAs to be built perfectly as well.

OCD runs deep here.

There are correlations between OCD and the use of nicotine,
then throw in the hobby/craft aspects of vaping.

yea I would say yes. However there is a breaking point when building a coil. Not sure how you spent so long on a single simple coil, it happens though eventually rational thought wins and good enough wins the day but ocd may develop elsewhere to compensate

I would if I had it , son in law has ownership of the said " not so perfect " simple coil and he will prolly bugger it all up !! .

I used to be the same way. But "practice makes perfect" and in time you`ll be able to do this in 10/15 minutes.

Yes. When I first started exploring the wonderful world of rebuilding, I would do multiple coils a day. I even bought a small rechargeable drill JUST for rebuilding, even though I already had three perfectly serviceable drills. I would install a coil, tweak it, burn it, tweak it some more, vape it, then pull the whole darn thing out and start over. It got better over time. Now I'll build when I have to, and I've got some coils that I've been vaping on for weeks and weeks.

LOL!! I have been diagnosed with OCD, a compulsion to collect, but haven't bothered with different coils. I still make 8-10 wraps, depending on wire gauge, and call it a day. Flavors are great and building coils is simple. Well, building coils for my 40+ RDA/RDTA/RTA is a bit time consuming

The only times I spend more than about 20mins building coils and loading them is when things are going terribly wrong like you just got them set and are giving them a final tightening and one of the posts snaps a lead.....GAHHHH Im frustrated just thinking about it LOL

That's 1 reason all my RDA's get new screws right away.

All get SS hex heads with 1.5mm hex socket from McMaster Carr.

3mm threading gets grub
2.5mm threading gets button head
2mm threading gets cap head

Rolling coils is like pulling weeds. Hate to start, then hate to quit.
I do roll 30 or so coils at a sitting. Place & label in plano boxes.
So when i need a coil?, here comes the OCD, i roll a New one..

I have always thought that "we" may be more prone to OCD to some extent...
Do you have obsessive-compulsive tendencies?

But I don't believe you "develop it later in life" so much as it lies hidden.
And when the right stressor comes along, it can trigger what was already there.

So yeah, or no, depending on how you look at it.

The screw will actually hold the tool in place while I walk off

Never have leaching from cheap screws

Perfect, quality threads that won't back out

Pretty much rounds out the reasons.
