Hi there,

I am a very new vaper (switched to it mainly to save health) and currently using VV/VW Innokin I taste vv4 with 18mg nicoltine at 10.5 watt (iclear 30s- 2.1ohm).

Now I have few questions (even after reading forums to understand Ohm's law) and would be very helpful if someone could answer:

1. Why at 10.5 watts when I vape I see someotimes 3.81v (after holding down +- button) sometimes 4.11 volt? What should be the ideal volt for more vapour and current watt? What changes if I switch to similar (i.e., 3.81v)?
2. What creates the amount of vape : higher watt or lower resistance or both? Will it produce more vapour if I switch to Innokin MVP 3 with Aspire Atlantis sub ohm clearomizer?
3. Will it produce more throat hit if I switch to Innokin MVP 3 with Aspire Atlantis sub ohm clearomizer?
4. Is there any chart which compares non smoker vs electornic cigerette vs smokers? A recent article today referred to harmful effects of vaping :(

I started with an Innokin MVP and their system of changing voltage and wattage confused me for quite a while too. The unit will fire whatever setting you changed last. Say you adjust the power to 10W now it will fire at 10w. If you change the voltage, say to 4.2V, now it will fire 4.2V and Ignore the 10W setting. Wattage and voltage adjust the same result. Power=(voltage)squared/resistance and Voltage=square root(Power X Resistance). So when you set the one, you also set the other, even though the display does not reflect that change.

Hi according to my ohms law calculator ( which is very accurate ) at 10.5 watts with 2.1 ohm, your voltage SHOULD be 4.7 volts.. sometimes units are a bit off the correct mark. But to answer your question at 10.5 watts with a 2.1 ohm your ideal voltage accordance with Ohms law is 4.7. Now to answer your questions regarding weather or not you can Sub ohm on your unit, we have to look up your units specs and cut off. I did this for you and the cut off for The innokin I taste is 2.0 ohms according to the website I read. If that is indeed as low of Ohms it allows you will NOT be able to sub ohm with this unit. Being regulated it WILL shut off at any coil lower than 2.0 ohms. If you switch to the mvp2 you will need to look at that units specs to see if it allows sub ohm. It should say in the specs how low it will allow. I do hope this is helpful. FYI/ their is a FREE application that will do the ohms law math for you and all you have to do is plug in the numbers! It's a EXCELLENT app to have handy. It's simply called " OHMS LAW". You might consider downloading that app because it's super handy. Also extremely easy to use. Best wishes :)

Hi both, thanks a lot for your kind reply. Mine is 2.1ohm at 10.5w showing a volt of 4.03. Quaite a bit off the mark. However, I was talking about sub ohming upcoming MVP3 (which can go as low as 0.4ohm). In that case, at the same watt will that produce much vapour? Whats is the deal with sub ohm? Basically, can some one shed some light on questions 2-4 above?

Many thanks in advance.

To produce more vapor there is several factors you need to consider.
The lower the ohms with more watts you will allow for more heat / vapor
The higher the VG ratio in your juice
Nicotine level and PG will dictate the amount of throat hit as well as heat
The larger airflow control will allow for more vapor

If you go to a MVP 3 and kanger sub mini / nano you will have a night and day difference from your present device, so much so you will want to lower your nicotine level......

1: the 3.81v and 4.11 volts sound like your battery charge voltage; it just tells you how charged your battery is.
2: wattage determines the amount of vape.
3: probably
4: ....

1. When the device is regulating in wattages it will vary the volts to maintain a fix watts level.. BUT what you are seeing might be battery levels also. Depends on what your mod shows.
2. The most vapor is produced when you expose the most juice you can to heat. optimum, Vapor and flavor production is a combination of air flow, heat, coil surface area, chamber volume, and juice supply.
3. See # 2, the answer is yes, no and maybe.
4. There are NO scientific studies re vaping yet. There are lots of opinions presented as studies out there. If you are an SMOKER switching to vaping, ignbore the studies till they start saying Vaping is worse. I am 100% sure there are bad things in Vapor. I do npt believe anyone has said those bad things even approach the dangers of Cigarettes or if those bad things rise above the NATURAL levels found in the atmosphere.
