I believe the evods use the same heads as the protanks and if this is the case, then you certainly can do a microcoil for it. I am running one right now in my PT2 and it is finally a vapeable tank.

Absolutely. Micro coils with cotton greatly improve the performance of the Protanks. It's a "must do" thing in my opinion.

The wick does not need to be thin at all. You can use a rather large thickness of wick depending on what kind of coil material you're using. I think there is a lot of hype over microcoils, but there is a reason for it.
Yes, considering the EVOD and Protank coil packs are practically identical...

Not only can you run microcoils, you can run dual microcoils! Here's a pic of a PT3 head with dual micro and cotton thread, but if you've ever opened up a PT/PT2/EVOD/PT mini/PT mini 2/Davide coil, you'll know they have room to spare, and what better way to fill it?

The term microcoil doesn't mean it's a tiny coil wrap, it just means that the coils are a compressed together and touching. It really is a bad name for them because it causes some confusion.
Short answer, yes. This is a PT2 coil I did a couple weeks ago (still vaping it right now as I write this) but the same as Evod

Yes, microcoil is a confusing term. It connotes a very tiny coil with tiny diameter. It should be changed to something like compressed coil or dense coil or something, The diameter can be arbitrary and common sense should take over.
I can actually relate to this in my very first time at rebuilding a few days ago. I was of the impression that 32 wg was generally used, but then the store I was buying it from was out of stock, so I thought 28 would be fine. I found that it was too thick to get low resistance reading with few wraps, and it takes about 10 wraps to get to 2 ohms and over, which was fine, but then I figured it must have been draining the battery too fast. I don't know. So I had to get thinner wires and everything was fine and I've been getting the same vaping experience I've been getting from premade cartos.
But I don't know. I'm still in the experimentation process. I don't know what these dense coils do to the battery, whether they drain it too fast or something.
When I first heard the term 'microcoil' I assumed it meant those tiny coils found in the clearomizers and cartomizers; I assumed the coils in the 'rebuildables' would be physically bigger and more manageable for the average person to manipulate.
I use 28ga on my RSST with like 4 wraps and got like .8 ohms.. I used it on the Igo-W with 1 1/2- 2 wraps, it's actually less than .2 Ohms
Those are extremely low resistances. The VV I'm using would register those as either "low load" or "short". And it won't fire.
