Can you recommend me a Clearomizer for my setup?

Hi all,

I'm brand new. I have a Volt and some cartomizers, and have now ordered liquid to refill them. However, from what I have been reading, I like the idea of being able to know exactly how much liquid is left and thus I am thinking of buying a clearomizer to use with my Volt's batteries (I have 2 automatic batteries).

I just started and thus I want to keep it simple. I don't want to buy more batteries (so X2 are out of the equation), and I want to find a clearomizer that simply "works well" with my Volt batteries. I've been reading about several of them, but I hate the idea of using something that will leak, or that I will need a syringe to fill it... Is there such thing as a simple clearomizer that fits the Volt battery, that does not require a syringe to fill, that does not leak, and that is easy to clean?

Also: once I get one, how would I know "when" I need to clean them? Do you just clean it before each full refill? Can you just "pour" some more liquid every now and then and clean it after X amount of days? (I actually have that same question about my cartomizers, I know I can just keep them wet but have no idea then how to know when I am supposed to dispose them)....

Anyway, I appreciate your help!I'm loving my product and loving this forum!

I think if I where you I'd get an 808 to 510 adapter and then you can use any 510 clearo if you get an 808 to 510 with the eGo threading as well I think I'd go that way.. I here really good things about the Kanger T3 clearo and I think that would be your best bet.. myself I'm not into clearos much but the T3's get about the highest reviews I've seen.. they do need the eGo threads though so you would have to go with the 808 to 510 with eGo threaded adapter to use them..

I use the Nano clearos from smokeless Image as well as the CE3 clearos.
These Nanos, if treated properly, are great! I haven't had any of them break or spring leaks. Don't over-tighten the mouthpiece after refilling and don't over-tighten them onto your battery and you're fine.
You'll want to fully clean them with warm water when switching flavors, and I like to clean them with warm water then soak in Vodka every other week to keep the atomizer from getting gunked up.
I have 10 Nanos and 10 CE3s, so they aren't getting used as constantly as if I only had a couple.

That's how I roll. :D Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion. Are the Kanger T3 simple to use?

Being new I get the main ideas but I would like to find a "fool proof" clearomizer that I can just refill, use for say a month or so and then dispose... SI's Nano clearomizers seem like that but I read mixed reviews...

Yes, the Kanger T3s are simple to use. However, the wicks/coils only last about 2 - 3 weeks before they need to be cleaned, and the wicks wear out not too long after that.

While replacement T3 bottom coil units are pretty cheap (about $12-$14 for 5, round about), you'll eventually want to look at rebuilding the bottom wick & coil. This is what I am currently researching, and I will post a separate thread pleading for information about finding the correct sized wire. I have been told I can use Polyester batting to replace the wicks, but I am trying to verify this. There are videos on youtube about rebuilding the T3 bottom coil wick/coil.

See: Kanger T3 Rebuild - YouTube

Looks tough at first, but once you become an expert you'll save all kinds of money.

I use Ce3's as well and love them. I don't have an issue with a syringe. It's easy, just shove the blunt tip through the hole and syringe your juice in. They don't leak- Easy to clean- syringe water through-shake and refill. They work great with 100 vg juices and have great flavor. Have had one that didn't work as well as the rest. I have a nano on order though- like the idea you twist the tip on, so I don't lose it and can just shove in a pocket

Wow, that sounds good.

One question MLT910: If you don't switch flavors, should you clean them or just keep on adding liquid?

Also, I read that some clearomizers break with certain types of juices. Do the Nano's work with any juice?

I haven't had any issues with specific juices, but then again, I don't like hot cinnamon which is one of the flavors that people say will crack the plastic.

I clean them with hot (to the touch, not boiling) water once a week, and clean with Vodka every other week. My juices are typically 50/50 PG/VG but I do have some that are higher either way...right now I'm vaping a honeydew flavor that generally works really well but seems to be lacking in both flavor and vapor, so I think I'll do a good cleaning of the Nano it's in and see if that juice (which doesn't say what PG/VG ratio it is) has clogged the wick a bit.

Everyone has their own opinions and personal experiences, so it is really more about what you want out of your equipment.
One downside to the nanos is that the mouthpiece isn't exchangeable for a comfort tip like the CE3s can. The hard plastic is kind of hard on my teeth, and I really like dangling my ecig from my mouth while doing other things. But, that's the only thing I've found about it that I don't like.

You peeps that are using the ce3's, have you bought any recently?Any problems? I really wanted to try these but read over on the Volt forum that they have changed and people having a lot of problems with the new ones. That bumbed me out because the ce3's looked to have everything I was looking for:(

The ones I'm using I bought December 18. Out of the 5, 1 doesn't work that great. The others are awesome-great flavor-vapor from 100% vg. Need to clean the 5th one and try again. I have another 5 coming tomorrow. These ones show no signs of slowing down though. Love them

I, too, have had just 1 of the first 5 I bought not work well, but I messed it up myself. I am still running the batteries that came with my first kit, and technically they are not 808s, they're threaded the same only they're longer. I screwed the CE3 down too far and pushed the atomizer terminal up and broke the seal. Luckily, I figured this out and was able to fix it (for a few weeks) and made a makeshift backstop for my batts and now can't screw them down too tight.

One small issue with the CE3s that I have found, is that since I am running a weak battery, compared to most, the atomizer in the CE3 doesn't get hot enough to fully vaporize the liquid that I'm drawing out with each "drag" and they tend to leak a little when it gets down to about 1/4 full.
