Sorry to hear that. It sucks when your expecting something and it doesn't happen. I know its not helping now, but I have had 4 orders this month and all have been on time. I have nothing bad to say about CP although I know I'm probably one of the only few. I feel ya on the fact that its the weekend now and you have to wait.

Hang in there and enjoy those grotty old cartos till Monday.

Is it not great now that we are coming up to being a vet (or already are) and get to forget about when we were new and did not know a topic was already covered as it was two or three pages in on the overall topics? Is it not great for poking fun at a new person now for the same mistakes we did?

On that note, Qcaj love the avatar. I am guessing that is one serious attack kitty lol If you want a good laugh at Canada Post (as they seem to change their rules when it suits them best) here is a good one for you..

Now i did not know i had moved (new one on me), Or that they had new delivery hours (7:30 at night?), I think on my way to pick up the package which was yesterday September 20th 2012 i must have entered a trans-dimensional worm hole that blasted me to 4:59pm the day before then on my way home i fell into that damn trans-dimensional worm hole to be put back into Friday...but one thing that is not a mistake is that normal expiated from there i was getting said parcel from took me less then 24hrs to have it here :D

After being in Calgary for some time, all i can say is that come Monday get on the phone and call them...seriously....they tend to need the cattle prod treatment to get them moving

Well here's my complaint: I sent a Lava Tube out to SK and for the princely sum of approximately $17.00 I was guaranteed delivery within 3 days....... it arrived in 4. so I went to CP for a refund and now I have been informed that I will have to call Customer Service for the refund.

I will keep you all "posted"........

That does work...when you call in they will ask for the tracking number and then ask for postal codes to prove that they gaffed (the joys of red tape huh?) when they ask how much you paid for shipping say $30 but shhhh you never heard that from me ;)

PS: horrible pun for first thing in the morning..more coffee...STAT

Once I moved out of an apartment I've had no issues with CP. Tracking has been dandy too, though it'd be nice to be a little more accurate on delivery times.

If you're in an apartment, chances are the driver won't even bother taking the package out of truck and actually attempt delivery. I've actually watched them drop off mail and say they attempted (didn't even try the buzzer), but couldn't get dressed fast enough to run downstairs to call them out. This happened with every package I had "delivered" there.

Thanks Constantine! That one was rich! I like that it went from Winnipeg into Otherspace for the last part.

I've had a bit of a nightmare at my apt for mail the last year, but it's been getting better. Over Christmas I had 3 packages go completely MIA and put in a few formal complaints and things have been pretty good. (I generally have to leave a note saying "APT BUZZER ##" or some iteration of "WE ARE HOME I PROMISE"). I stopped buying cat food online because the only reason were were doing it was to not have to schlep home with 2-3 cases, but that doesn't work when you have to go pick it up at the PO anyways. Boo.

If Expedited delivery is guaranteed, what happens when it doesn't come in time? The website said something about reimbursing the fees to the shipper, but... well, I paid those.

Drawbacks of the Tracking system:
* it is only scanned at postal facilities; not scanned by air carriers, etc
* even if it is scanned it will not show up on the tracking until the scanner is downloaded; maybe the end of shift
* the history only shows the last place it has been scanned, not where it is now

Nearly all parcels eventually arrive.

No one was poking fun at anyone here, you are reading into things that do not exist dude. Unless I am reading this wrong.

Well, I wasn't sure if some of the replies meant I should have bumped an old thread instead of making a new one...

Nah, wasn't my intention. I just thought you would want to look at all the good stories :) I am not one to play forum cop :p

Okay here is the news and its huuuuge.

I called CP today, this morning, Saturday, 1st day of rest, the day after Friday the evening of unrequited love (easy pickups after too many beverages) and I actually talked to a huuuman. I was so surprised that I was caught off guard and a little slow.

"Ahhhhhhh, I sent a package out to Saskatchewan on Sunday 9 Sept and for $17.95 (Tax included) for a guaranteed delivery within 3 days and it was late."

I checked the calendar just to make sure it was Saturday and gave the guy the tracking number: "tap, tap, tappitty, tappitty, tap, tap".

Canada Post Guy: "What's the problem sir?"
Me: "It was late" getting irritated
Canada Post Guy: "It says here on my computer screen that the item was delivered within the time limit"

The fog in in brain immediately dissipated. That question / statement was as good as calling me a dirty rotten liar.

Me: "and what date was that?" I ask; and this is where it gets interesting.
He responds "the 13th, Wednesday".

I know what you thinking, I've got him because 13 minus 9 = 4 and 4 is greater than 3, right? ....... not yet because Canada Post does not count Sunday, it gets better.

"Jessy" I say (we're on a first name basis.....actually I'm still referred to as SIR) "I have a receipt here that say the 14th"
Now its him doing the Ahhhhhhhh. "Let me check the scan record" says Jessy.
More taps and tappitties then without a pause....... "and to who do we send the check to?"

I'll let you know if the check really is in the mail

BOL thanks for the laugh. If the picture above is the most recent, then yes you will get them on Monday. One thing i have found about the new CP "tracking bar" is that now tells you how close your package is to you. So yes it will say Monday it is out for Delivery. As for the issues of the mail man you want to cure that? Get a leather jacket on, cool shade's and stalk his hinney about 5 times. Be assured he will be every so nice to you in deliveries after that
