Canadian GG Owners Assemble!

So, Tom from CanVape likes when we give him ideas about things to sell. Amongst other things, I suggested that he start stocking up on the wires and wick required to keep our iAttys, Odys, and Penelopes running because we lost GRBC (meh) and now - though I love the guy - we have to order our stuff from Bruce, which always presents the risk of confiscation (albeit minimum) but it still takes a while to arrive. Now the last thing I would want to do is hurt Bruce's business, but he would still be the GG supplier to Canada, he would just carry wick and wires for us Canadians that would order it on a regular basis, and it will only be a day's delivery away.

Here is what I asked him:

I suggest these because now that Daniel at GRBC no longer sells GG stuff, we need a Canadian supplier for our rebuildable atties [just the wick/wires]. I know there are dozens if not hundreds of Canadians who use rebuildables, especially GG ones, and with the P&P dropping soon, there will be over 200 more rebuildables (an estimate at 10% production) hitting the Canadian side at least. You can buy the stuff in extreme bulk and the mark-up is pretty easy as you just sell it by certain lengths. I know you guys would make a killing with it and it's simple to ship. I'm sure if you needed the link to a bulk supplier we could provide you with the proper gauges and such.

He said that if we can source a supplier for it in bulk he would carry it for us; which I believe would be awesome for Canadian GG owners. To clarify again, he does not want to step on Bruce's toes or take away GG business, he is just willing to stock wick and wire if we can help him.

I just came here for two things:

1. I don't want to take any liberties or step on any toes, so if anyone can think of a reason that this would be unacceptable, unethical, or against Imeo's rules, please let me know and I'll explain it to Tom, he's a groovy dude.

2. Does anyone know a good bulk supplier of the resistance wire, non-resistance wire and wick (doesn't have to be the same guys) that will ship to Canada, as well as the specific gauges/sizes he would have to order.

I would appreciate some feedback and input on all levels

Not only GGs use wick and kanthal

I have a few things that does,there is pre-coiled wick on the market as well! (Mark-T atomizers stuff,at cloud9vaping)

Well the best place for us to buy wire is wires.co.uk - specialist in craft wire, knitted craft wire, silver wire, enamelled copper, resistance wires, stainless steel, plated wires and many more! and They ship to USA/CANADA dont know about wick as we buy in bulk for uk website.also a great mesh supplier is The Mesh Company: Online Shop for Woven, Knitted and Perforated Mesh for Art, Craft, Floristry, Modelling and Engineering. I hope this helps which ever dealer wants to get it........

from here wires.co.uk : Bare Nickel Wire
1700 meters for about 100 pounds shipped great bulk buy.

resistance wire here
wires.co.uk : Bare Nickel Chrome / Nichrome Section
.15 mm is stock and they sell from 10m to 3400 meters
maybe .17mm for lower res stuff depending on your taste

as for wick Omega is ok if you want to use Nextel stuff. If you want the stock stuff it depends on how much they want to invest. I think Imeo mentioned that he buys it direct from china but you have to buy something like 5 miles worth of it at a time and it was in the thousands of dollars price range. If they don't want to invest thousands of dollars your best bet is to get it when it is available from COV IMHO.

I buy wick from CoV and wire from wires.co.uk, and I dont buy it often enough to need a canadian supplier really. Buy 20$ of it and it lasts for years.

Kanthal is cheap like borscht from several eBay sellers, nextel xs116 is readily available from omega. The only possible thing I'd want is silver wire, but there are already other sources for that, or nickel or silver plated copper wire.

Thanks all, now that I know what to get and exactly how it comes, I seems silly to buy any of it not in bulk. Works out pretty cheap. thanks so much for the links!

Just a thought, but I know for certain that Daniel at GRBC purchased a large amount of wire & wick in February. I am sure that if he is no longer dealing with GG products, he would likely be amenable to selling this stock. I don't know specifically how much he got, but I know it was a considerable amount

Looks like I'll be buying bulk wick from COV and my wire from eBay eventually. I'm rocking the stock stuff from COV - which I believe is 34 AWG, but I want to tinker with some 32 as well. Plus whenever this damned Ody decides to get here the guy I purchased it from is sending me lots of wick and wire too. I've already started making coils in preparation
