I just checked notifications using the ECF-1 skin and they are working for me. Try logging out, clearing your cookies and cache then logging back in. If this doesn't resolve your issue please post again with your operating system and browser version and we'll see if there is anything else we can do to help you get this sorted.

Thanks

Okay, tried the different skins. Yuck, they're ugly. None of them resolved the problem. Logged out, cleaned out the cache and cookies. I'm using Windows7 and IE9. This is so strange. I can get my PMs, but can't acess the "like" notifications. No matter where I try from it brings me to the forum page.

I notice that going to "Likes" or my PM's takes a Very Long Time. But it does go there.

When you log in, are you checking the box that say's "Keep me logged in" under your Name/Password?

do you have any other browsers installed on your system that you could use to check this issue? I'm on a non windows system and likes notifications work correctly on Fx,Opera and chrome. I'm thinking it is an internet explorer related issue...

On this machine I just have IE9.

The slow load time on the "Likes" or PM's isn't a Huge problem for me. Anyone who came from the x286 with a 9600 Hayes Modem days is somewhat more tolerant of Load Times.

:D

If we can get a solid methodology on reproducing this error I can have our coders determine how to fix this.

The staff mostly use Fx, Chrome, or Opera because of the security issues related to Internet explorer. The admin staff are expressly prohibited from using IE for that reason. I know this doesn't solve your problem but I thought I would mention it.

Yeah, when you can't Duplicate a problem it makes it Very Tough to fix a Problem.

Maybe having a Machine running IE used for Non-mod/Admins accounts would help? Kinda a Sandboxed Machine.

I only have IE9 on here. Slow load wouldn't bother me. It just bumps me to the forum page instead of loading the likes page. I had it set to remember me on the log in, but haven't checked that box since cleaning out the cache.

Another thing to try.

Do you have another Computer you can access the ECF with? A Work or Friend or Family computer?

If you logged in from another computer running IE9 and it worked fine we could kinda rule out the Problem being on the ECF side.

Can these other browsers be downloaded some where? Are they free, or is there a fee?
I might be able to log on from another computer this evening, if I can remember my ECF password LOL I've got this computer set up to remember all of them for me.

I would check to see if things work on another Computer First.

Sometimes if you Load New Software or Change a bunch of settings it makes it Difficult to know what Worked or what Didn't if you still have Problems.

Went on another computer with IE and no problem. Now I'm thinking it has something to do with the stupid Norton anti-virus program on here!!

COOL !!!

Now were getting Somewhere.

I think it is a Persistent Cookie Issue. That or a Saved Password Issue. I don't think it is Norton.

Got to run out but maybe someone can Explain about Clearing Saved Passwords and Viewing Cookies for the ECF.

Success!!!!! Thanks for the help. I went and found some cookies that hadn't been cleaned out! I'm all good again :D

Right On.

Most computer problems are Simple to fix. The Hard Part is knowing what is wrong in the First Place.

Good to hear your Back in Black.
