Hello all. I decided to sign up here after poking around on all the reviews and reading random posts, most of it not making much sense, and all the model numbers/actual "name" stuff has really confused me.

Anyways, I had a DSE901 about a year ago, which I used frequently, but my batteries died, and I lost one of them, and I think the atomizer is messed up, and then I just never bothered to get a new one or replacement and went back to smoking. Because of the cold weather and having to go outside to smoke all the time, I have decided to purchase a new one. Unfortunately, the holidays has not left me with a lot of spare money, so I need some advice on which e-cig to purchase!

My spending budget is no more than $70. I would prefer something that is more reliable and longer lasting, and I opt more for the vapor/taste than a throat hit. Also, what is the difference between manual and automatic? And are cartomizers better than seperate pieces??

I've been looking at the KR808D, 501, and DSE901. Or maybe the 201? What's this Juicebox thing? All these different brands are really confusing and making it hard for me to decide. I am particularly fond of the pink LEDs... but thats not a must have.

I suggest you read up on the 510 and the KR808D-1 and see which one you think would suit you more.

The extra care you have to put into the 510 gives you more vapor and a slightly better hit, the KR808 avoids any kind of maintainence but you do have to pay for that convenience in the long run by buying cartomizers, you can buy blank ones and fill your own though which a lot of people do, so you can save money whichever model you buy, and $70 bux will get you a starter kit of either model and plenty of juice no problems.

My suggestion is to get a 510,($35) kit, 501 to 901/808 adapter ($4-6), and some blank cartomizers and juice. I think you can do it with your budget and get the best of 3 good PV's with the vapor the 510 produces, smoothness of the 901, and flavor and convenience of cartomizers. I use all thee. I started with the 510 and wanted to try carto's but didn't want to sart from scratch. This is one opinion, I'm sure others more experienced will jump in. There's obviously a lot of great suppliers on the forum! Good luck and happy vaping!

jlmanno is suggesting a great option!
I have a 510/kr808d-1 and a chameleon.
I have found bliss in each one.
I am waiting on the delivery of my juicebox!!!!!!

510 is good, 808d-1 is a warm vape, good to go.
chameleon gives the option of using a 510,901,808d-1,801 atties.
Good luck. It is all up to your taste buds, and you don't know what will satisfy them till you try it. The first and second steps are the best and fun to boot!

The least expensive way to go for hardware is the Joye 510 - cignot has their deal back in stock....

Joye 510 NO BOX

$35...and then you have more money for ejuice. If you get $59 worth of stuff there - just $24 more than the kit, you get free shipping - see the 'free shipping' link there.

Highly suggest getting one bottle of Ecopure - VG which really gives you the vapor. You can put a few drops of it on any flavor.

The 510 is a mini a bit smaller than the 901. So it will feel familar. Suggest getting the flat tips which will also be like the 901 and in fact, if you have any cartridges left, they will fit the 510.

Thanks everyone! Looks like most people are pretty fond of the 501. I may just get that. How is that compared to the 801 and KR808D? Battery life isn't that big of an issue for me, as I am pretty much always near a computer or a power source. Are cartomizers cheaper in the long run compared to carts and buying new atomizers?? How large is the 801? And should I even still consider the DSE901? I swear I've changed my mind like 5 times already on which one to get!

Any recommendations on juice/cart flavors?

The batteries in the KR8 kits will have a longer charge time but they are longer than the 510 batt. You can get a longer 510 batt too - a mega batt from TW and it lasts longer than the KR8 batt that I have that is rated the same. But if batt life isn't an issue then the 510 is the ecig for you but get a Joye not a clone, imo. And if you're stationary get a passthrough but plug it in a wall wart rather than your computer.

Cartomizers and not cheaper in the long run. Check the initial costs - you can get prefilled or blanks. If used as intended - ie 'no muss no fuss' you throw them away and it will cost you much more than refilling 510 carts. And if you refill the cartos then you're in the same boat as refilling 510 carts although a refilled cartos will last longer - ymmv on that. But getting an adapter for cartos for your 510 is the best way to experieince cartomizers and still have the best atty made for 3 piece work and later for mods perhaps.

So I'm thinking of going for what jlmanno suggested, with buying a 510 starter kit, with 2 510 to 901 adapters, and then 2 packs of cartomizers and maybe 1 or 2 bottles of juice?? I'm stuck between deciding on the 510 and KR808D, so I thought I'd just go for that since I do want the convenience of cartomizers. Would that be more cost effective than just using the regular atomizers and carts that come with the 510?

I really like my eGo at the moment. Long lasting battery and loads of vapor. I use it with the 510 to 901 adapter just because I prefer the 901 atty, but with a standard 510 atty it hits like a champ. I get a standard 10.5hrs off a single charge, so two batteries last me well through out the day. Retails for around 80 and some change.

Check out Janty's site if you're interested.
