Besides the fact that my center post spins like crazy, i noticed if I use my 24 gauge kanthal and twist the wire to make a twisted coil the coil always seems to touch the walls of my top cap and snag on the fins of the top cap.
I've tried making the shortest legs possible and this still does not fix my problem. I've centered the coil as much as possible and even tried building on the left and right of the atomizer.
What gives? Is this dangerous and what can i do to correct this issue?

Chipotle.
You've really got to work your builds into an ideal position, there is definitely a reduced size internally from the airflow fins and you have to be mindful of that when building. I've managed to fit dual twisted 22G inside my plume veil however it took a good 25 minutes of wrestling everything in to place.

Have you tried using the skip hole method to get the coils more centered? Instead of using the nearest positive post hole to the negative use the one that's further away, this will allow you to more easily push the coils towards the center. Like this:

For what it's worth, all three of the center posts on my plume veils spin when I tighten them.

That is the method I'm using, however, after looking at your build I realize my negative lead needs to be longer, this is probably causing my problem :) Thank you

A spinning center post is a flaw and could cause a short. I wouldn't use that atty.
I haven't yet experienced any problems other than when building from my center post. I rarely get shorts anymore, but prior to the spinning center post problem i would get shorts from building errors. I am looking for a new atty though, what would you suggest? I'm looking for cloud/flavor atty's like the plume veil, this way I'm not sacrificing one over the other.

Mutation X v2

Clones can be found for 10 to 15 bucks and authentics are like 25 or so I think. I bought a clone and it is wide open at the top. I have put some monster coils in it as it has plenty of room to work in. Nice juice wells too.

Try the vertex v2. I'm not a dripper fan but I was given a vertex by a local b&m for a good price on a dare and so far I'm loving it. Got it in single coil mode at 1.6 ohms and the flavor is fantastic at 12 watts.
