Exploring mostly but I did order a Halo g6 starter kit with a sampler pack earlier today. I've noticed a lot of the people here don't use the ones that look like cigarettes. They have the big expensive complicated looking ones lol
Honestly the "big expensive complicated" ones sometimes can be the most cost effective and easy to use ;)

IShotBigBird, whatever works for you is the right thing for you. Don't worry about size, cost or anything else. Yes, we tend to be enthusiasts, but a lot of us use cig-a-likes, if not all the time, when it suits. Best of luck with the G6 kit :vapor:

Hello I am new also. I tried vaping in 2008 with an NJoy Ncig, it killed my throat lost my voice total waste of $150. Anyhow in January thought about it and found it in my retired electronics box and attempted to use. It worked for a few days and then quit, of course they stopped making that model years ago.

So I re-started with the cigarette type you asked about tried all the disposables njoy king, vapage, a bunch of other brands but ended with greensmartliving because it was easily accessible and had refills. I used the prefilled carto's and then bought the refillable ones. Tried all sorts of flavor liquids. Then I searched and read all sorts of forums but most google searches landed me here. I got the V4L XL Diamond and used Cool Carts and filled those, I was waiting for this really cool looking one they had an image on their site of. Well less than 3 days after I got those Diamond batteries I am awaiting an order for the Zeus. Nothing wrong with the diamond just all the reviews make it sound like the best thing since well, ecigs. ^_^

The cigarette ones I had were not horrible at all. I appreciate their small size and ability to be discrete, however personally the constantly filling carto's and charging began to get to me. So much so that I almost bought a pack of my old analogs. You are going to, like the rest of us, experiment until you find the product that is right for you. I have a friend who has been vaping with the cigarette style for over three years and she has no desire to change, me well like I said I need something that does not need that much maintenance and a lower cost per fill (prefilled typically cost more).

Sorry to ramble on, hope this helps.

You can refill the prefilled carts with the same flavor? And how long does a typical cart last?

welcome to ECF! As others have stated there is a wealth of info here about everything under the sun with tons and tons of options. Don't let yourself be overwhelmed by shop talk and things you find and have no idea what they are. Over time you will find what your preferences are and what works for you. ECF is great in that it helps you make more informed decisions about your purchases that will hopefully save you time and money and give you the support you need from staying off "stinkies" or troubleshooting issues.
I have found that it is best to start simple and see how vaping works for you. If you find that the cig-a-likes aren't cutting it then move up. Ego batteries are a great place to start if you still want something that will fit easily in your pocket and you don't have to charge them as frequently depending on how you vape. Many people find that they will last all day. I have tried a TON of stuff out there and have finally settled on a variable voltage V2 Vamo and a few others but it is my main PV. Its variable voltage but very easy to use and so far its been very reliable. Its also very affordable. As far as what you use to make the vapor, the vivi novas are generally a crowd favorite. They are easy to fill easy to use and easy to maintain as far as cleaning goes and the replacement heads are fairly inexpensive. You shouldn't have to empty your wallet to make vaping work for you. Unless, as you said you decide like many of us have and make it a hobby. *WARNING* this is a great possibility, especially if you hang out in the great community found here at ECF. Happy vaping and congrats on your switch from analogs. :)

ps. don't worry about the greek you hear spoken around here. the language and abbreviations will come quicker to you than you would think and before you know it you won't feel like you are in another country anymore.

You can refill most of them, the ones with the soft tops are the easiest. I used a needle nose plier to pop of the top, the part closest to your mouth. You have to be careful not to drip down the center because it will leak out. You can usually refill 3 - 5 times depending. I also clean them with a cotton ball with alcohol just to disinfect it just on the outside and top not sure if you have to, I just have a thing with germs. You should probably use the same or simliar flavor, I hear you can wash them however I never bothered (there are youtube videos). Also magic mist sells compatable carts for everything for a lot cheaper and thats where I started buying the pure blank carts so I can do all the awesome flavors out there. ^_^

Actually, for the most part, the cig-a-likes are way more expensive.....look at my rig in my sig pic....Apollo battery $14.99 and Kanger ProTank $18.99.

Speaking a whole different language lol

Not around here....hang out, read, ask questions and learn....you'll get it in no time at all.

Like PaulP said, it's kinda the other way round.

Yeah, you can spend a lotta cash on some advanced systems that look like Mr. Spock or Dr. Who would be using 'em but you don't have to. In fact, my current set up cost a lot less than the "kits" a lot of places sell.

But a whole heck of a lot of us do start with "cig-a-likes". I started with Blu (ouch!). Halo seems to have more fans around here than Blu will ever.

Ah, so maybe later you'll upgrade. Maybe you'll like Halo and stick with 'em. Everybody's different. And what works, works.

Welcome to the ECF! Stick around, you'll figure out why some of us are nuts over fancy widgets. Of course, understanding that may be hazardous to your bank account. :)

Oh and the post thing? That's a spam trap deal. Big, busy forum as this is (something over 18 thousand active users!) gets pelted by spammers. So they keep newcomers in one section for their first five posts. You're already past that so other sections should be opening up for you.

There's a list of things that "unlock" when you hit certain numbers of posts but I always forget to bookmark it. But after 5 posts here, you're free to move about the cabin. :)

'Tis true! I got here, what, last month? I can actually sound like I know what I'm talking about!

Now, whether I actually know what I'm talking about is a whole other can o' worms. But I can jargon up a storm now. :)
