Hi there,

I'm quite new to vaping (2 days) and purchased the apollo ego superior which I have a question about. Wanted to ask in the Apollo Q&A section but with this 5 posts for new members thing it appears I can't so hoping someone can answer here.

Pretty basic question, the light on the switch for my battery which changes colour. It seems to start off green after a full change but then after a few operations it goes blue, just wondering why/what this means, is there a quide to the different lights anywhere?

Many thanks

I use mechanicals but I believe it is in relation to battery run time. Green full charge, blue mid range, and probably the next color will mean close to depletion of charge. When I used egos three years ago they didn't have that feature. Someone please correct me if I'm off the mark on this.
Also welcome to ECF!

Hi

Huh - they don't say anything about the color change LED. If it works anything like Firefly batteries, the very top and bottom 10% of the available charge are represented by green and red accordingly. The majority of the run time will be at blue. So see what happens - if it changes to red that means you are down to your last 10% of remaining power before the battery shuts itself off because it needs recharging.

Hiya,

Thanks for the welcome. The battery seems to be lasting fine (has stayed blue for 2 days) so I don't think there's anything wrong with it. It does now flash red when i 'lock it' but then goes back to blue during use. Don't have any major concerns, it was more out of interest of what they all meant really! The starter kit was out of stock when I bought it so had to buy all the pieces and didn't get any instructions! I know some of them you can change the voltage and was wondering if it was that but can't seem to change the colour on demand.

Only other question I had was around the liquids. Filling the unit (1.6ml) seems to last me about 2/3 of a day. Does this seem like normal usage?

Also does anybody have any tips on regulating usage, is there any way of translating it to how much nicotine I was getting from smoking. I used to smoke Richmond Menthol cigs, about 15-20 a day and I have got the 18mg (high) liquid.

Finally can anyone recommend any liquids from other companies that they find good that you think I should try?

Many thanks!

Hi and welcome to you. I can assume the lights on your ego represent battery drain, if it's not a variable voltage device. Assuming red means needing charging. Experiment With Different E Liquid Nicotine Levels To find what's right for you. I smoked 2 packs a day for over 20 years and was able to comfortably quit smoking while using 24 mg nicotine. If your cravings are heavy at 18mg you may need to bump up to 24. However if your comfortable stay at 18. Listen to your body and cravings. I suggest you try several different juice flavors from different companies and find your favorite. I make my own e juice so can't realty recommend a certain company. Expirement, find what YOU lIke and enjoy. Their is no right or wrong, it's what you like and what satisfies you.you may even want to make your own e juice someday.it's one of the best things I've ever decided to do. Saves lots of money and can be easily made exactly the way the maker likes it. It's fun and fairly easy to do. Perhaps in the future you may consider making your own as well. For now, expirement, see what you like. Don't worry too much on the amount used. Use what you need to quit smoking and stay comfortable.hope this helps answer some of your questions. And again, welcome! Best wishes :)

Hi b33r, and welcome.

You might want to update your profile to add "UK" to your location (assuming you are from that Leeds), as there are people from all over the world here and it will help people make recommendations for you.

It does sound like your lights reflect battery levels. I have some that use different colours - start out blue, turn purple pretty quickly, then go red just before it runs out. Sounds like it's running OK, which is the important thing!

Nicotine is absorbed differently so there isn't really a way of comparing. 18mg is normally recommended for people smoking 20 or more per day, so you may be OK with 12mg. Perhaps buy a few juices at that level and see whether it works for you. If you find yourself wanting to use it all the time, then go back to the 18 and work your way down later if you want to.

I get through about 3-4 tanks of 1.6ml per day, many use even more, so your usage is just fine, probably relatively low. But if it works for you that's what matters.

I like Apollo liquids, but there are cheaper ones out there that are also pretty good. Might be worth looking at LT Ecigs, and Joose Juice for cheaper liquids.
Apollo hardware items are quite expensive though. If you want to get any backups or replace your equipment later, try myepack for excellent prices.
We have a UK forum further down, once you get your 5 posts you will be able to post there, but you can have a read through now and you might want to look through the thread on eliquids there, as there are several recommendations for cheap vendors there.
