You can post any question in the new members forum. Many vets and other helpful vapors answer questions on all sorts of topics in New Members. New Members is just that... a New Member. Doesn't necessarily mean you're a new vapor.

There was a guy the other day that I'm pretty sure got all 5 of his posts just complaining about the 5 post rule.... 
I'd say they rank right up there with "What exactly is an e-smoke-thingy, and which one do I need to blow HUUUUUGE clawds?!?"
I've noticed it comes in waves. It's like someone just sees a thread and it gives them the idea.

However, fortunately (knock on wood) I haven't seen a new member try to start 5 threads in a while. But perhaps I just haven't been paying attention...
It still surprises me that folks like the OP just don't dish out 5 hi's (or 5 hi 5's) to other new members. Would take all of, what, a minute and a half if you type slowly? (Well, with the 10-char limit I guess that could be a problem. 5 posts is a minimum of 50 chars, and there's only 26 on my keyboard.)

I think we should make the newbies wear "hello kitty" backpacks for their first year on ECF, and post a picture every month to prove compliance.
Then, they should get a minimum of 200 "likes" from the established members.
Once they have done that, they are eligible for initiation, which would happen in the middle of the night. We would tap them with an e-mail ("ECF - accept or decline") and they would have an hour to respond.
Initiates would have to go through the normal vetting process (think "Thank you Sir, may I have another").
Obviously, entrance to the Provarinatti, Reonauts, Nickoticket, etc. groups would have their own additional requirements (Family history going back 5 generations, blood tests, DNA samples, oaths of loyalty and secrecy, proof-of-purchase, credit check, 2000 green-stamps) to weed out the unworthy.
Wadda you guys think?

I don't understand the complaints with the five post rule. My first month here I had over 150 posts easy. From there I got tapatalk and was addicted. Pretty sure I post more on ecf than I probably text my friends. I know on a daily basis I peruse the new members forum and so do most active long term members. In fact it's not uncommon for posts to be answered quicker here than in the other sub forums. (Coil builds anyone?
) but if you need me I'll be in my hello kitty backpack waiting for the reo van to pull me I reoville and give me my real initiation.
