Can't sell atomizers on eBay anymore

About a week ago I ordered an rta on eBay (USA) from a company in Hong Kong. 2 days later I got an eBay email stating that the atomizer had been shipped.

I noticed yesterday that the listing for the atomizer from this Chinese company was not listed on eBay anymore. I thought that was strange since they had 10+ atomizers available for sale when I purchased mine.

Well, today I got another eBay email from this Chinese company that read ....

"Hello friend, thanks for your time, we feel sorry to tell you, as tobacco policy, my listing is removed by ebay, but it's not effect your order, your tracking number is LK178219114CN, now it's normal in transit, please be patient, if you have problem, please contact us, we'll reply you soon.
Thank you very much".

That's correct. They do consider it a tobacco product. However, that's been going on for some time on eBay, they're just getting more aggressive about it. I imagine it's because of the new regulations. Same is true on Amazon.

Yep! Happened to one of mine about a month ago. Still got the Siren but the seller and everything was gone when I went to leave feedback!

Nope. The prohibition of e-cigarette sales on has been Fleabay policy for years now. Same with Amazon and PayPal.

I tried to tell the ECF members weeks ago that eBay had pulled ALL OF MY ATOMIZERS weeks ago. So i simply closed my Selling acct on eBay.

I guess i was the canary in the coal mine but people wouldnt listen..

There are many thousands of ecig listings on amazon and ebay. But I went to their policy pages to see if there are policies and there are.

Tobacco policy
Policies of both companies say electronic cigarette products may not be sold on their websites. Ebay says that may not apply to ebay sites based in other nations. There may be something similar for amazon. It may be the problem is that US based companies must follow the FDA age verification rules and that may not be practical for amazon and ebay. Never the less the policies say no while enforcement is lax.

Nope. Those policies have been in place for years now. They've always considered them to be "tobacco" products which are prohibited from being sold. Same with PayPal and using them to purchase e-cigarette products.

Just because there are listings on Amazon and Fleabay doesn't mean they allow it. If the items are reported, both companies waste absolutely no time in yanking the ads down, and in some cases, suspending the account of the company or person doing the selling.

Officially on eBay UK you have to apply for permission to sell e-cigarette products and only business sellers can apply, private sellers can't - private sellers have to be creative with their product description in order to get their e-cig listings through the system

"Only permitted sellers can list e-cigarettes, e-shishas and related accessories. To become a permitted seller, please, submit your request New categories request | eBay."

I used to be able to get lots of ecig stuff on eBay, but have noticed a drastic decline (as expected) though I still can see a couple here and there, but not often anymore.

I'm sure they also use keyword scans on their database. Then the question is are able to steer clear of their search criteria. Obviously if someone reports you, you'll be nailed as well.

This has been happening for a long time. I bought a spare glass tank section from there and it was removed... It's literally just glass! It's a tad ridiculous... But I got my item so I didn't care too much about it. Just sucks for people selling it. I've also heard about people having issues selling stainless steel wire on Amazon now.

I've sold numerous tanks and mods through EBay UK, guess I've just been lucky. Always got great prices aswell!

Business sellers can sell under the actual "E Cigarette" category. Everytime I sell have to list under the "Shisha Pipe" category. Most users though are wise to this practice.

The other side of that coin is, you own and operate the venue, you POLICE the venue. PERIOD. It would not take more than a few people to police this IF THEY WANTED TO, lord knows they have the cash. Its much more, um, progressive, not to mention cost effective, to allow the populace (and competition!) to police the venue thereby getting a real good idea of which way the wind is really blowing.
