Apparently, we're not allowed to sell e-cigarettes and accessories because of "Government regulations" ... what Government regulations?

Hello vapemaster,
After reviewing your eBay account, it appears that you have violated eBay's tobacco Products policy. We realize you may not have been aware of this policy, or that this may have been a simple oversight, but unfortunately, we had to take the following actions:
- Violating listings have been removed. A list of removed items is available further down in this email.
- We have credited any associated fees to your account.

Due to strict government regulations, eBay doesn't allow the sale of most tobacco products. This includes cigarettes, cigars, electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes), herbal cigarettes, and smokeless tobacco.

The following items are not considered collectibles, and they are not allowed to be listed or sold on eBay:
- Cigars in cellophane wrapping
- Collectible tobacco, including a listing that describes the tobacco instead of its collectible packaging
- Tobacco products packaged in classic packaging
- Electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) or e-cigarette accessories

You may sell collectible packaging that contains tobacco if the package is unopened. Your listing must follow the guidelines below, and the guidelines must be included in the listing. Please refer to the policy page to find the guidelines and disclaimers you need to include in your listing.

If you include photos in your listing, you need to display the actual item for sale. Stock photos are not allowed.

For more information on this policy, go to:
Tobacco policy

You listed an electronic cigarette. While we appreciate that you have chosen to utilize our site, we must ask that you please not relist in this case.

Please be sure your future listings follow these guidelines. If they don't, they could be removed.

Here are the listings we removed:
251319699701 - Vamo V3 Variable Voltage Wattage Electronic Cigarette Vaporizer Set Kit
251320147219 - *NEW* Vamo V3 Variable Voltage Wattage Electronic Cigarette Vaporizer Set Kit
261265041071 - *NEW* Vamo V3 Variable Voltage Wattage Electronic Cigarette Vaporizer Set Kit
261265048722 - *NEW* Vamo V3 Variable Voltage Wattage Electronic Cigarette Vaporizer Set Kit

Thanks,

eBay

We pay to use their site. We have a say. The rules - yes, their rules, are wrong whether you agree with them or not.

Just like a LOT of laws that are wrong whether you agree with them or not...
That won't keep you from landing your ... in jail or prison for breaking them...

You accepted the terms of service / eBay user agreement when you joined ebay.
Just like most online forums/sites you must agree to their rules/guidelines to become a member.
In the ebay terms of service / user agreement is a detailed list of prohibited and restricted items.
Obviously you didn't read what you were agreeing to and hit the accept button to complete registration. By doing so you agreed to follow their terms/rules as a condition for using their site to sell your goods.
You do not have a say other than to find another venue to sell your stuff.

I've seen stuff like this before, but this thought never popped into my head until tonight. I guess because football starts tonight...

I wonder if we could get away with this- Ebay does not allow tickets to be sold for more than face value (this may be only if the event is where state laws restrict it, it's been a while since i looked). The way people get around it is post something along the lines of

I am selling this Alabama pen (probably purchased at Wal Mart for a buck) for $500. If you purchase the pen, I will throw in 2 Iron Bowl tickets FOR FREE!!!

So you could sell an 18490 for $100, and throw in a Provari for free. No rules against batteries. :D

We pay to use their site.

Only if ya sell or buy something there.

We have a say.

Only in that you either sell or buy through 'em.

The rules - yes, their rules, are wrong whether you agree with them or not.

Ummmm, would you agree to have p0rn sent to your email addy? Ah ha, your rules... either way ya swing, many others will disagree with you. Just saying... BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU ASK FOR.

Besides, why even go to eBay when there are countless sites to purchase what ya want. Oh... maybe da PayPal? That's where eBay makes their bux.

Happy rantin'!

You do not go to jail for breaking the rules of a private companies pondering. Unless there also happens to be a law on the public law books describing that rule.
You would just be violating a term of their agreement. So, you either deal with or not.!
