Hello all,

First, here is what I am using:
Standard Ego and Riva batteries
Boge low resistance cartomizers OR
Low resistance Joye 510 attys OR
Ego-T atty and tanks
Hypnotic Mist juice with double flavor

I am a huge fan of Hypnotic Mist. I have gone through about 600 ML of it and still love it. Lately however I can't taste it after the first 2 or 3 drags. It doesn't matter what atty or carto I am using the issue is the same. For example, when I get done work I will put a carto or tank of HM on my Ego and start vaping. The first drag tastes fantastic with very strong flavor so I know the juice is good. The second drag is muted and the third is barely noticeable. After that, I get pretty much no flavor until I take a long break from it. Several hours at least.

I have 2 ideas about this but I'm not sure what is going on. Any ideas or advice is appreciated.

My first thought is that the battery is at a peak voltage at first and gives a bigger hit then settles down to a more normal voltage after a few drags. I don't have anything that will give me a higher voltage consistently to test this theory.

My other thought is that my taste buds are just getting used to the flavor and I can no longer taste it correctly. I hope this is not the case because HM is my all day vape and I really don't want to search for a new one again.

I vape other flavors too and for the most part they all taste good drag after drag even if I use them for a few hours. It is just Hypnotic Mist that I am having an issue with. Please post your thoughts or any similar experiences.

Thanks :)

I have also had this happen, and oddly enough it was also with Hypnotic Mist! If I vape it too much, it seems I cant taste it. I thought it was just me. I now rotate thru several different flavors and find sort of the same issue with all of them, I can taste them less as the day goes on. AWESOME in the morning, then less throughout the day, even when I am using my PT so loss of power cant be the factor.

I can absolutely understand what you are going through because it happens to me, regularly. I vape Adam's Sin Apple which has strong Cinnamon and Menthol components. This has been my staple for about 6 months, and really all I vape. There are times when I just cannot taste it- but switching to another flavor for about 10 minutes and then returning does the trick. I am a firm believer that my taste buds are being worn out / getting desensitized to the constant, repeat flavor. Try switching for a few minutes and see what happens. Works for me =) Looks like it works for Sassy too.

Your taste buds become accustomed to a flavor when it's used frequently, so it can seem to lose its taste even though it really hasn't. I go through this with my DIY Chocolate Eclair. Like others have said, try switching flavors for a while. You can also try eating a small piece of crusty bread or brushing your tongue and see if that helps.

n2xe, I completely agree. Variety is the spice of life and that's why I have 6 different flavors sitting in front of me right now!

Wow! Thanks for all of the replies! I am relieved to see that others have similar issues. Not that it's a good thing but just because I'm not alone.

I will try to switch it up more often and see how that goes.

Classwife: I considered that my batteries may be getting weak but they are still giving me a full day or more of use and the flavor issue happens regardless of what battery I use. Good thinking though. Thanks

Thanks to all!

First drink plenty of water. You are going to have to leave hyno alone for a few days. Your buds are in transition still (so it sounds) so step away from it for awhile. In a few days and rehydration, you can revisit it and all should be good.

strangly i seen to taste it more when i let my throat get dry?
i'll have to switch for a few days and see what happens
what do you mean by my taste buds are in transition? i've been vaping for 7 months now?
