I've tried 3 recipes from the other site and am not impressed. I'm wondering if you have any recipes that use this flavor?

Sorry ChelsB; I am afraid I have not tried ANY of the horchatas (CAP, DIYFS, FLV, FW, LA, OOO, TFA x 2, and ????), so "I got nuthin." 
Have you tried it as a stand-alone? If so; what were your results/impressions?
Have you tried allowing it to age and/or breathe? Because this is essentially a "cream" flavor I could see this potentially benefiting from a bit of aging. I am not particularly hopeful for "breathing" helping, as there appears to be no alcohol per MSDS, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
Have you searched the forum(s)? I just did a quick look-see here on ECF (for "cap horchata") and found a couple threads that might offer a bit more insight (though not exactly recipe related):
