Bought some Capella vg yesterday for 2.49 for 4 ounces. Went back and read on here that you only pharma grade is safe to inhale. Now I notice that the cap stuff is only food grade. For less than 3 dollars I can just dump it down the drain but anyone use it to DIY? I already have the cvs glycerin that says USP but I didn't trust that either. Which should I use? Or do I need to jus buy another bottle from wizard labs or something?

First of all, I hope you are not planning to vape Capellla flavoring by itself. !

Food flavorings are only for adding, in minute amounts, to nic solution of VG, PG or PG/VG mix. Flavorings are never to be vaped by themselves.

That said, All flavorings are made for the food industry, and are labelled GRAS. (basically safe for injesting)

There is no such thing as food flavorings that are USP that I know of.
There have been no long term studies on inhaling food flavorings....only injesting them.

If you feel uncomfortable vaping flavorings then you can certainly get USP pharma grade nic solution (VG, PG or PG/VG) and vape it without flavorings in your nic strenth.

There are many vapers who do not vape flavorings. Or dyes or food coloring etc.

That is up to you of course, and since there are no studies nobody can tell you if flavorings are safe or not safe. I vape them, but only certain ones. :)

Thanks, I was specifically asking about their food grade VG. The inhaling flavoring thing I'm not too concerned about considering the alternative. I meant to post this I'm the DIY section but thanks for taking the time to post a reply!

Okay, BL, just wanted to make sure mostly that you are NOT planning to vape food flavorings themselves, out of the bottle.

Please forgive my saying this, but I do try to help newbies in the most basic ways possible, and sometimes, that does include details which are not there to make anyone feel dumb, but I jsut never take anything for granted when I want to put somebody in the right direction.

So if you already knew this, please ignore. :)
