Okay, I did my first DIY 2 weeks ago thanks to your help. But I was using Phoenix BCs and now I've moved to the vivi and the flavor is muted by comparison; I'll be staying with the vivi. So my flavors have changed:

coconut 15%--slight taste, better as it wicks and condenses
raspberry 20+%-- got mad at 0 taste at 20% and tossed in what I had left in flavor; slight taste at 30+%
Cinnamon danish--fine at 20%
Choc Brownie-- still too strong at 10% (Hoosier was right--I should have let it steep at 5%)

So the lighter flavors are very muted by the vivi, the heavier ones seem to be fine. I'm about to do another DIY so I have two questions:

1) Any tips on how to deal with this for the future? Obviously, move to stronger flavors... Capella stuff is too expensive to start chucking in 30%+/batch.

2) I am STUCK -- meaning in my fridge -- with Strawberrys and Cream and Eggnog for my next low nic batch. Any tips on using these? They stronger flavors? I want them to come out fine in the Vivi--then NEXT time I'll move to some heavier flavors and avoid the lighter ones like raspberry.

Do not let me down DIY vets!

TY!

I made the 15% rasp and 15% coconut and tried them on a Phoenix BC and they were really great... I moved to the Vivi and now have nothing but problems i.e. no taste. The raspberry smells like raspberry and I just put 1 drop on my tongue and it was like a mouthful of raspberry. I'd like to understand the interplay so I can make my DIY juices effectively. I'm vaping straw and cream at 15% and it's fine--my only option is to abandon flavors that aren't strong ones. I can live with that, I'm simply at a loss to explain the vivi inconsistencies. I can vape choc brownie at 2.5% yet I can't taste coconut or raspberry at 15%/20%/30%... and I cut the coconut to 10% and it was flavorless as well...

Well we can rule out your flavorings. I have a knock-off Vivi tank and get results from it range. Depends on how much condonsation builds up in the well. Ive tried the 2.4 and 2.8 ohm heads and flavor and th are less than what Im used to. Voltage ranging from 3.6 to 4.2

The same liquid in a CE2 or bottom coil tastes as it should. But since my tank is not the same brand I wouldnt want to draw any conclusions in comparison to yours.

I took mine apart, cleaned and dried it. Then cause I just feel frustrated (bad day) I took a hacksaw to the bottom of the positive pin and cut the air vent deeper.

Put it together, switched back to the 2.4ohm head, filled it and Ive got joy! Not as tight on the draw as before, but not as loose as I expected it to be either. While putting the head back on I realized the bottleneck was there.

I got 5 good tasty hits with plenty of TH at 3.8v... Vaped it for a while with average hits. Now that the liquid level is 50% its behaving as it did before. Little vapor, no th and only bit of flavor. Least there is not a burnt taste.

Back to the original problem... It doesn't seem to be a problem with your flavors/blends so Im going to chalk it up to a hardware problem. Mostly cause your liquid(s) and mine fair better in most anything else lol

I'd recommend looking at the device before changing your DIY percentage for a specific device, otherwise you're always going to have the issue with it. Some still report muted flavor from the 2.5. I got heavily muted flavor from the first version but with the 2.5 it's coming through in spades with all my juices.

I don't know where to tell you to start with it other than check out some of the 2.5 user threads, you should be able to find some info to help solve the issue there.
