I stumbled across this web site the other day while looking for carbon fiber cloth.

3M DI-NOC Carbon Fiber Vinyl | Carbon Fiber Gear

I wrapped my brand new e-Power tonight and was amazed at how clean and good looking it came out. I was able to use a hair drier to wrap it around the cone per the instructions on their web site. Best part... they have a 20% sale going on right now so a 4x8 sample sheet, which is enough to do lots of e-cig gear, is only $6 with free shipping!

Pics to follow...

(No affiliation with this web site, just excited about the product!)

Soon everything I own may be covered in faux carbon fiber! I restore old cameras and I'm thinking that this might make a good finish for a Kodak Retina IIa that the finish is beyond saving but still is in amazingly good shape mechanically...

Looks great Uber.....I have been pondering on that stuff for some time now...I saw it at .....fxcarbonfiberdotcom...but their site isnt working for me now...they had some good prices too. How is it for getting it in to tight spaces and rounded surfaces where regular covering would bunch up? For example...could you do the outside of a box mod with one piece and not have to slit it anywhere? How well does it stay on?

When I was doing the cone on my ePower it wanted to bunch up a bit but hitting it with the hair dryer for a few seconds softened it up and it went on nice and smooth. I'm not sure that you could do a box mod with one piece. I'd actually been thinking the same thing. I'm putting together a 5 volt right now and I'll post pics when I'm done with a step by step of how I finally figure out the carbon wrap. right now I'm thinking that I could do four pieces fairly easily. One each for the top and bottom, one for the back and one for the main body. I'm sure that I could get the top and bottom pieces to conform to the slightly rounded edge to transition to the body then use a sharp razor blade to trim it and .... up the main body wrap.

Time is tight right now, too many projects and too much crap to do at work but I should have my box mod done in the next week or so. Check back here for the results.

Would probably need a sheet 2-3 times the size of the box then get it good and hot with a heat gun and push it thru the sheet. The extra material would allow for the stretch without bunching maybe..then again it may distort the pattern too much too. Of course it always works better in the mind than on the actual project...I may have to get some to play with too! lol

Look forward to seeing what you come up with...thanks.
