Cart feeding issues vs. tank vs ???

I've been back on the wagon again, heavily cut my smoking in the past week (don't even have one every day). I'm being reminded what got me last time though. First with carts it was poor feeding and constant filling/topping off. I got some tank carts last spring which are working better than carts. They were two piece with a small slot feeding into the filling, and a single one piece with a single hole (no slot) into the filling. They fed terribly, so I replaced the filling with blue foam and they feed better, but I still get issues with dry foam or not feeding quickly enough. Dripping works great but is not at all convenient for me and is a deal breaker other than occasionally to try different juices. I'm using a Silver Bullet at stock voltage with a LR atty.

I'm happy with the battery life of the SB (though still having button issues, off and on since a few days in), and the tank carts hold enough juice that I'm content. I can fill in AM before work and be good until after work, fill again when home and golden from there. Several of the two piece tank carts have cracked though. I understand this is not uncommon with some juices on some tanks and carts (the clear types), when using certain juices (atomic cinnacide is one of my regular vapes). I just need a better feed to the atty so it doesn't dry up and lose flavor/vapor and taste burnt. Suggestions? Can this be achieved with tank carts? Are there better 510 style tank carts out there?

Alternatively, I've seen some people who have some sort of tank setup on their atomizer or a cartomizer inside the tank. What are these tank setups? Do they work better than carts or tank carts? If it's closer to dripping in the experience and feed then it might be what I need to avoid frustration. If this is the solution, what ones work well and will fit and work with my Silver Bullet?

I can't speak to tanks or the Silver Bullet, but I do use 'tank carts' like these with blue foam. They have 1 and 2 hole models.

They do take a little fine tuning, but I found them satisfactory. Haven't had analogs since I started in May.

My suggestion would be to forget attys for anything but dripping. You're more likely to run in to wicking or feeding issues using attys and tanks/carts or whatever you choose.

Get some cartomizers to use when you don't want to drip and it makes life MUCH easier. Now which cartomizer is another question as there are many different styles out. For your first cartos at 3.7v or below I'd recommend Boge 2.0 ohm, Resurrectors are also popular and hold more juice. You can get both at crystal clear vaping who has free shipping and throws in some other goodies if you buy in bulk.

Go to DIY SYRINGE CARTO TANK - Cliff Notes or LONG VERSION for an under $3 homemade carto tank.

I luv 'em! My beloved eMDCCs are taking a back seat to these awesome builds.

If you're not into 'roll your own', then look at THESE. I haven't had a need to try 'em. But, that's a reasonable price.

Good luck!

I've used several tanks and carto combinations. I also own a silver bullet. For me, the best setup, hands down, is a J-TANK, with Boge 2.0 LR atomizers. I am also a new owner of a Reo grand, and I use boges on that. I use tanks because I have no time to be dripping and I find both of these setups are the best possible ones for me.

These give me an idea. I love my ego-t, but lots of people find problems with it. From all my readings, it seems to be down to the tanks themselves, or the wicks. Is there something like that that will fit into a ego-t atomizer, that looks just like the tank, only a little longer? I'm thinking that this would cut down on all the ego-t issues. With the spike and wick removed, a little longer tank with the blue foam would reach down to the coil for happy, issue free vaping.

Isn't it always the case with vaping, either leaks or not wicking? I use these carts with standard 510 attys, bridge goes right into foam cup. Don't know if there is one for eGo-t attys. Anyone else?

There's supposed to be a new system coming from joyetech. Here's the teaser vid for it. Joyetech electronic cigarette videos

Hard to tell what it is but it looks like it might be some sort of wickless system.

Edit: I realize this isn't exactly what you were asking, but your question reminded me of this. Actually there are several new cartos out that I'd like to try, one of them being the kanger like is used on the volt.

The 5 pack I ordered is different, but it came with one extra "freebie" that looks like the second one in that picture. That is the one I'm using now. It didn't come with blue foam, though I'm using blue foam now, and it only have one hole at the top to feed the foam. Should I try making another hole in it? A hole and a tube to the top of the tank so juice can flow easier? Or will that cause flooding?

Either way, after watching some reviews I was going to order the J-tank, but they were out of all 510 LR cartos at electronicstix.com both pre-punched and normal. So I ended up ordering the Vaporescence tank with a couple preslotted cartos, and a couple other small items. Don't feel like waiting and didn't want to deal with having to order from multiple vendors/multiple shipping and messing with cutting cartos for my first time with nothing to base them on. The reviews seemed good of this tank but the issues many complained of was the tank sat loose on the carto. I saw in a couple places this didn't cause leaks but required you to be more attentive, though some said this was fixed in the newer versions?

Oh well, Hopefully it'll be decent for my first tank. I just want to get to a point where my PV works great first time every time and I only have a few minutes of cleanup/filling/fiddling at night or in the morning. Poor feeding and having to mess with carts and atomizers all the time makes me tempted to revert to smoking. Hopefully this will be a step in the right direction.

I've heard someone drilling another hole in the one hole model, but be very careful. The clear plastic is brittle. Personally, I think two holes feed more than 1, which is why I went straight for the 2. Have not tried one.

As for the right amount of feeding, you can adjust the amount of foam or polyfill to increase or decrease juice flow. I also tap the PV batt side down a little to make sure. Can't help with tanks.

According to tracking the Liquinator tank should arrive today. Can't wait to get home and try it. Will be my first time using cartos or a tank so hopefully it delivers what I'm looking for. I've given up on the tank carts and have been dripping for the past couple days, which is nice for good taste and vapor all the time but annoying.

On a side note I'm now 5 days cig free and without even the desire for one, and the week and a half before that I only had a pack and a half, down from a PAD habit. I've been vaping off and on for two years and never really giving up cigs. I'm optimistic that this might be my time to quit for real, as I don't have a desire for cigs anymore.

Well it did in fact arrive today. I am very impressed so far. Using the Liquinator with the LR cartos from Vaporescence. So far every drag is like dripping. Time will tell how it holds up to my daily grind being out and about.

I've never used cartos before... How long should I expect them to last? A few weeks? Can you clean them like regular atomizers or are they throwaway when they get nasty or weak?

They will last around a week max. You can clean them out by flushing them really well with rubbing alcohol, 91% works best. This will dry with no trace. I have a cleaning method in the tips and tricks area thats been working really well for me, hopefully it will do something for you. I carto should be good for 4 or 5 cleaning, and I would say with boges you can get about 2-3 weeks out of em. The rest is up to luck.

Madvapes has a tank for ~ 12.00. I don't know anything about them, but the price seems decent.
You should build one or buy the one from madvapes, its the best bang for your dollar for a tank. The tanks make your carto's last longer and you don't have to keep refilling or topping off all the time. If you ever use one you will keep using it because it holds so much juice and save you money on cartomizers because they last so much longer.
