Hello, I was just wondering why I can't get my carts that I fill to last as long or have as much vapor as the pre-filled carts.
I have about 60+ pre-filled carts from V4L and love them but I wanted to try some of the flavors from Freedom Smokes and Gourmet Vapor, I purchased blank cool carts and wow carts from V4L and some mixed juice from FS & GV, some at 50/50 some at 80pg/20vg and some at 90pg/10vg.

I know that the higher the PG the less vapor but they it seems like even the 50/50 don't have the vapor the pre-fills do.

I've been filling using the condom method then put a .... plug and condom on the batt end and do the T-Spin, then top it off with a few drops (making sure to blow the cart out alittle so there is not juice left in the middle to get inside the battery).

So am I doing this wrong or doing to much?

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Are the prefilled carts the same length and diameter as the blank carts? What kind of Ecig are you using? If the sizes are the same, but just prefilled, you should be able to duplicate the volume of juice in the prefilled cart. If the filler is too tight in the cart, you won't get good juice feed. It should be sized to slip fit into the cart easily. That way, juice will expand to to seal and not leak. If you are stuffing the filler tightly in the cart, you won't get as much juice in, feed will be slow, and you will think it has run out prematurely.

If the prefilled carts you are talking about are cartos that have no filler, then that's the difference. CE2 and some other cartos are an empty tank inside and no filler. That makes a world of difference in how much juice can be loaded. Other cartos are longer and contain the atomizer coil inside the cart, giving you more juice capacity.

the cool carts are not going to give you quite as much vapor as teh wow carts will. I honestly have not noticed a major difference with vapor production when I fill my own. I use carts almost exclusively from V4L as well. When your battery is starting to get low, you will get less vapor as well. Try the carts with your passthrough, and see if that makes a difference.

Where are the blanks from?

I don't use any of those extreme/quick methods of filling. I fill them as intended. When a carto is overfilled or freshly filled it may act a bit like a flooded atomizer, vaping cool and not making much vaper. Just keep vaping it until it's no longer flooded around wherever the heating coil is. I get the best vapor somewhere between overly wet and a bit too dry.

BTW - just to eliminate confusion here - we call those cartos. The screw-on mouth-end of a 2-piece ecig is a cartomizer, a combined cart and atomizer. We abbreviate that carto. The push-on mouth part f a 3-piece ecig is a cartridge aka cart. Many vendors confuse the issue by calling them all carts. The Vapor4Life prefills and blanks are cartomizers aka cartos.

Are your batteries good and strong?
Do you pack the juice in any way?

I.E. Spin method: Centrifugal force pushes the liquid down.
For this I took one of my granny's old hair curlers and plugged one end using a bit of wire or string...put a string about a foot long on the other. I cap the battery end of the carto...drop it in the curler battery end down, and give the thing 10 spins or so.

I.E. Using a Syringe to pack in as much as possible.
Ask any pharmacy counter for a 3ml syringe with an 18 gage needle...they should be well under a dollar a piece. They make adding juice clean and fast.

In KR808D-1 cartos (not sure if it's the same thing V4L uses) I can pack in close to 50 drops (around 2ml).

I get about the same performance from them as I did from the factory prefills. I have noticed that stronger flavors (menthol/cinnomon, etc.) seem to last for more puffs than the smoother lighter ones.

Note...some cartomizers just aren't as good as others...even from the same pack. Also, before I refill one...I test it real fast by putting a drop or two directly on the atty (through the little metal hole at the battery end), then fire it up and have a taste. Should also hear a good strong sizzle.

Set aside your better ones for refilling...they can last a good long while. Chunk the ones that don't draw as well or just don't feel right.

Another thing that might help you pick the best of the lot for refills is:
Find one you really like how it performs...
Measure the resistance with a meter.

From here on, before risking the waste of 2ml of juice packing a cart, you can check it with the meter to get an idea of how it should perform.
