Some boil but my water has to much calcium so I flush under hot water several times blowing out 3-4 times between. Main thing is to do it before the carto starts getting to tight a draw. Flush until it is clean/white again, blow out excess water and let set for a few days to dry.
Boiling - bring to boil, strain off water. Repeat 3 times. Let cool, blow out excess and dry.

Thanks, I'm going to try that out.

Please understand - This is very risky!!!
Should you damage the coil<right in the center of that tube> you can cause a dead short or an open circuit.
OPEN - the coil is dead and will not fire
SHORT and the BATTERY can be permanently Damaged.

Only try freeing up one at a time and read on a meter before filling and attempting to use.
Better safe than sorry.
I hate when people do not include WARNINGS at the start of risky procedures.

OP, have you tried Vision Vivi Nova tanks? If you want to save money, you could rebuild the coils on them pretty easily and for cheap, it would definitely save money but there are some risks of making a crap coil and damaging something.

If you don't want to mess around with rebuilding the coils, you can wash them much easier than cartomizers and dry burn them to burn off the gunk on the coils.

Health Cabin sells Boge 510 cartos for $4.50 for a pack of five.

They're from China, so I generally order four or five packs at a time. They take a while to arrive... from two weeks to up to four weeks sometimes, generally, I get mine here in Los Angeles about two and a half weeks after I order them.

That works out to $.90 per carto. If a carto lasts you five days (I get between two and three weeks from mine, but that's me), you're looking at 18 cents a DAY! If they last you a week, which is still below what I believe most people get from a carto, you're paying under 13 cents a day.

Considering we were all paying five, six, seven dollars for a pack of smokes, we should be able to handle a few pennies a day, even if you add in the cost of 3 or 4ml of juice!

Toss your old cartos, and spring for a new one every once in a while!

Live a little! Splurge!!! (just plan ahead, and you can keep the costs pretty low)

You will need a hole punch, if you don't have one, but that's a one time cost.

+1 on including warnings where needed, but IM(H)O, this procedure is not as risky as you describe it...

If you know what you're doing and you do it carefully, the risk of causing a dead short or an open circuit is very low and definitely worth the effort. I've done it many times with no problem.

Having said that and after all, tossing the used carto is much easier...
