carto on a bottom feeder?

I just got a bottom feeder and I hadn't even filled the bottle until yesterday. It's a homemade 510 box mod that had a little tube to the bottom of a 3 mil bottle and a needle between the bottle and the carto. I like to use cartos and I'm confused. If the juice comes up the needle into the carto, won't it fill the center tube? Isn't that what I have been trying to avoid by dripping down the sides of the carto?

My current technique is to squeeze the bottle and inhale at the same time. Am I doing this correctly?

I use cartos on my bottom feeder all the time. I first fill it from the top either dripping or with a syringe. Then I vape it awhile, to fed it I just squeeze the bottle and give a suck on the carto. Not necessarily at the same time. I let it sit a minute to let the juice seep into the filler. just keep it wet
