hi everyone, first post! anyway i just started vaping last week and have since been able to put down the analog cigs. i started off with a starter kit from southbeach smoke. both batteries died in less than a week (one quite spectacularly complete with smoking led tip) i really needed a fix and didnt want to buy a pack of smokes so i went out to my local smoke shop and came home with the only option that they had available the "smoke relief" overall it feels pretty cheap, but it gives a good solid hit imo and im not disappointed with the performance. one thing i am disappointed with is the taste and strength of the carto. my southbeach was only 16mg and i cant seem to find any info on the strength of these smoke relief cartos (other than a post on here which said they are 24mg) but they seem way too strong for me and give me a headache if i vape too much. the smoke relief site only offers one strength, but it seems that many of these generic e-cigs use the same batteries. if this is the case are there any other cartos that would work with this bat or am i stuck buying from smoke relief? id really like something around 12-16mg. i know my southbeach cartos wont work as the threads are different.

Hi and Welcome to the ECF!!

Unfortunately I dont know anything about the smoke relief so I cant really help you there. If your looking for a good kit that is a cigarette style I would recommend the Volt from Smokeless Image, great performance and can buy cartomizers from other suppliers.

Hopefully someone can help you in regards to the smoke relief set up.

Good Luck!!

Hi Herfalerf. welcome to the ECF. Is the battery/cartos you have like the one here? Brand New PCC Starter Kit If so my vote goes to the rn4081 as my first choice . Choice number two would be 510. The only wat to know for sure , really would be to be a pack of each cartomizers and try them out. The thread pitch on the 4081 is different than the 510 but the spacing is very similar. They look the same but won't interchange to one another. Look up those two as they look to me to be one or the other. Good Luck. Happy Vaping.

Hi and welcome to ECF.... I do not have any experience with that model of PV. This is just a statement and opinion; you get what you pay for. I have a difficult time with this in my home. As my kids and wife like the cheaper models of things. They like to be thrifty and find the best deals. The best deals are not always the best. My wife wanted more of a cig looking unit. I went out and bought it for her after we already picked up some ego units that she used for a little while. Now after a month of the useing the Bud e ciggerette she is back to useing the ego batts with boge cartos.
It might be worth a look towards a brand name - high quality pv. And in a minute you will be getting a number of suggestions.

Hang out - read on, learn some and tell us more of your journey into the vaping world..!!

thanks for the all the replies guys.

@iusedtoanalog yes it looks like the main pic on that link. although if you click on the close up picture that shows the threads on the carto in the PCC that is actually a picture of what i am assuming is the old model, its definitely a different PCC than mine. my cartos are very similar, but have a slot cut into the surface. the wide angle shot showing the kit is what i have. here are some pics if that helps, i will try calling cs tomorrow.

i was actually really depressed about this purchase earlier after i tried the flavor and hated it. i tried to take it back to the shop where i bought it only 1.5 hours after purchase and they told me they dont do returns despite the fact that the original employee who sold it to me assured there would be "no problem" when i asked about returns/refunds. in retrospect i can now see that he was dodging the question as the manager assured me they have a 0 returns policy. send an angry email to the company owner (my only course of action left to me by the manager) so i will see what happens. i may contact the BBB. the kit was quite expensive at $80, but it was all that was available locally and i needed something now. unfortunately i work minimum wage and the whole point of me switching to a pv was to lower my monthly cost (the health benefits are nice too) so i dont have money to throw around and already had a bad taste in my mouth after the southbeach smoke fiasco.

If its a 510 connection you can use any 510 carto. Iusedtoanalog stated there was a possibility it could be a 4081 which I have never used so I cant confirm that thats not a possibility. Form the picture it looks like a 510 (thats all I use) but if you could get the connection type from customer service that would be a plus.

Hi again Harfalerf. I know of a place you could get a pack of either carto option if customer service isnt of any help. I hope that they will be but, just incase you have some backup. Heres a vendor that I know has both items you would need. the 4081 NEW Soft Tip GP4081 Cartomizers and the 510 Boge 510 Cartomizers for 510 or eGo I have my fist PV which was a 4081, the threading looks incredibly similar to the 510 that is sitting right next to it. My vote still goes to you having an rn4081. Please let us know which one it is when you find out so that we all can help somone else when/if they have a similar question.

no, the carto is metal it has a little rubber piece on the mouth end that can be pried out. it has a yellow sticker wrapped around the metal part. on their website it says that only smoke relief cartos work with smoke relief bats, but im guessing that is just to keep you from buying cartos somewhere else. i am going to try another one of their flavors since the tobacco flavor is so disgusting.

im gonna give cs a call tomorrow also and see what they have to say.

i googled a pic of the rn4081 and the connector tip looks slightly different from mine although i do not know if this is important or only if the threads/size are what matter.

Your carto has a slot cut across the face,(battery connector) the threading is what you need to identify. I hope for the sake of hope that you have a generic 510 and can use any 510 carto but I just cant rule out the fact that i looks just like my 4081. The tip (lighted end)on the 4081 that i have is well rounded like yours. I also have a joye 510 which is much flatter and an off brand 510 which is more rounded but not as rounded as the 4081. Now on to the slots on the battery end... The pic I see looks like you have three slots on the battery connector. All my 510s have four smaller slots. My 4081 has two.... so all those things togother make me want to lean still toward the 4081. If you could hang in there with it till tomorrow hopefully customer service will be able to tell you what threading it is then you will be able to get good cartos and liquid you can enjoy.

Hope customer service can tell you the threading as well.

Like Iusedtoanalog pointed out - the 510 has 4 slots, the 4081 has 2, and the battery Herfalerf has 3, it could be that its neither a 510 or a 4081 and is indeed a proprietary connection for Smoke Relief like they stated on their website.

I hope thats not the case either!!!!

the battery has 4 slots. the pic is just really poor, sorry about that. it also says the smoke relief cartos will only work with smoke relief bats, but not the other way around. although there is very little info on their batt other than that it costs 9.95

Then I guess we would have to lean more towards a 510 connection maybe? I wish we could tell you for certain!!

I hate when they give you no info, but they sure do remember to put the price :censored:

Only real way to know would be to buy a pack of either carto and give them a try, with 4 slots that sounds promising but there are other batteries and no real way to know unless you get a straight answer from customer service or give it a try. The possibility still exists that it is a one brand only thread but the likelyhood of that seems unreasonable. For thr record about 80 percent of the "private" brands say implicitly our cartos only, while the reality is that less that 30 percent of that is true. This industry is based around a few reliable designs and thats the raw truth.

thats what i figured. im gonna put in an order for some of their cats (they selling em for $8 for a 5 pack atm, good deal imo) and im gonna pick up some generics and fill em up. i know this info is probably all over, but this site is fairly overwhelming, so is there a good thread on how to refill cartridges and could anyone recommend a reputable site to purchase cartos/juice? also i cant seem to find anything on the difference between pg/vg juice?

This looks like a 510 to me.
That is the most common type.
You should still call & ask so you can be sure of what to order.
Right now, are you using an atomizer with the cartridge over it?
You need to get the cartomizer,
that is an all-in-one type,
you can re-use them and re-fill with any e-liquid.
They are much better and easier to use.
They will vape longer because they hold more e-liquid.
Unless you prefer to drip into an atomizer with a drip tip,
but you have to drip often if you decide to do that.
