So I'm pretty sick and tired of using wicked coils on my triton. I just ordered some LR Cartos from halo and it got me thinking. Is there a way to make / buy a carto tank for the triton battery?

I was googling for carto tanks and all I could find was 510 carto tanks, nothing for 808. Granted, I could get an adapter If i can find one and use a 510 tank, but that isn't ideal and it will probably look funky. If it is my only option then so be it.

All the links I found on this site are from 2 years ago, anything recent on using a carto tank for an 808 battery? And would I be able to use a smoketech carto punch so I can use Halo LR cartos in the carto tank? If not, any recommendations on LR Cartos for a carto tank?

Just real tired of my wicks getting burnt taste after a couple days and my juice not tasting the same as the first day of using a fresh wicked coil. Also tired of cleaning them to get more life out of them, I'd much rather use 1 cartomizer per week then 2-3 coils per week.

correct me if I am wrong here... But why do you need an adaptor???

OK I have never used a carto tank and never held one in my hand, but If I understand correctly the thread that screws into the battery is the one on the carto, the only thing you need to worry about is that the caps on the carto tank are snug around the Halo Carto. As I understand it, there is no threading on a carto tank. It is just a glass/plastic tube with 2 open holes at each end.

So if I am right, the thing you need to find out is what the difference between a 510 and 808d carto's outer diameter is.

Zavi, I have a picture here somewhere with my 808 Halo cartos using IBTanked brand tanks with them. No adapter needed since the cartos are for Halo. ;)

Maybe Dave or someone will post the picture here for me.

Yeah I was pretty sure this would work, but since i have never measured the outer diameter of a halo carto or a 510 carto, and only eyeballed them... i didnt want to say it.

Yeah I thought about using halo carts so I wouldn't need an adapter for the 510 carts, glad to know they work! So pretty much any cart punch will work? The one I found is the smoketech cart punch, I never used one before but I'm gonna give this a try.

you might want to remove the paint from the halo carts, before sticking it in the tank, otherwise there are still places online where you can buy 801D carto's as i understand it. speaking of carto punches.. while curious on the subject i stumbled across the delux ultra studly version of a carto punch..

total overkill...but if you really go this route permantly....

OK I am super new so forgive if not helpful by askin but.........why do ya go through coils so fast zavri??? I have been gettin by with 2 tanks, granted I have to clean one each night but it takes like a total of 10 minutes manual labor (few hours counting soak time but I work it into my before bedtime routine) I have been using the same two coils for over 3 weeks now by cleaning them and by rewicking. I get maybe 3 full tanks before I toss the wick n slap a fresh one in. I clean the coil with a little dental braces brush (got mine at walmart but they are everywhere) and its been working great

I think Halo cartos have contact paper, at least my black ones are that way. And a little ejuice will help dissolve the sticky goo.

And I would remove the paper before punching it.

And to the OP, Zavri. There are discussions about prolonging the service life of coils. Frequent cleanings, never hitting it dry, waiting for the wick to fully saturate before hitting, hitting it low voltage at first to break it in.

The best advice I got on this was from our Evie Luv. When you let off the button, keep drawing for a second or so. It cools the coil. This has given me at least a third more life on a coil.

(Thanks, Evie!)

I picked up an adapter from smoktek.com and use a 510 6ml tank myself. Every few days I pull the coil out, remove the wick, clean it as best I can and rewick it. I love it. Had it now for over two weeks and it's been the only tank that I've been using. I now have a box full of halo tanks that I never use. Halo still owes me a new one for two weeks now. But I'm putting that aside. It's all good.

yup totally agree with dave, Ms Evie, Fallen doin a pre-draw before pushin and then the draw after lettin off the button is crucial, it helps avoid dry hits in spades.

Yes!!! I can make a coil last for a month!! More if the juice isn't bad at gunking up coils. :D I probably just don't suck as hard as you guys do wearing out those coils. I have a steady slow draw.
