I bought the joytech ego-t Kit about 3 weeks ago.
One of my atomizers now seem to be shot. I have to take huge drags to get anything, and it kinda has a burnt taste.
I soaked the atomizer in hot water for 30 mins and let it dry out- its not any better. I guess its time for a new one?
My other issue is i leak the fluid all over the place when refilling.

Would a cartomizer be my solution for easier refills ?
A cartomizer is combo of the atomizer and the tips right?
So if i get a cartomizer i wont need to purchase more tips - right?

Appreciate the help! =o)

A carto is an atty and cart combined. I ran across a carto I really like. It's the smok EMSCC. That stands for Ego Mega SINGLE Coil Cartomizer. It's shorter than the original Mega carto. It's large enough to easily drip the liquid into it. They hold 90 - 100 drops of liquid. You can get'em at madvapes. Be careful, as there is also the shorter EMDCC, which is a dual coil carto, and they look alike. In my experience, the EMSCC performs better than the EMDCC, although either is better than a standard, small carto.

Three weeks? That's an amazing amount of time to get out of any cartomizer, congratulations! But yes, they are done and need replaced! The filler material gets gunked up from the juice and can only be cleaned so many times before you have to throw them away. In the future, you can use Vodka or Everclear to clean them, it cleans a little better than boiling them, you might get more use out of them, you might not?
You confused me at first, what you have are called Mega cartomizers, there are lots of places to find them, I'm just using this one so you have an idea what you are looking for to make it easier for you. eGo Mega Dual Coil Cartomizer, Flat Tip
You can use a regular cartomizer on them as it will take 510 threading, 2.5 Ohm Dual Coil 510 Mega Cartomizer but these wont last anywhere near as long between refills as the mega's.
Easier refills is a cake walk. Get a syringe or a needle tip bottle, 10ml or 30ml bottle w/needle tip - perfect for filling DCT tanks, clearomizers, cartomizers., insert this around the OUTSIDE of the filler material as deep as you can get it, put in a few drops, move 1/3rd around, a few drops, and so on. Eventually the top of the filler material will look "slushy" for lack of a better term, but you will know it when you see it. It's time to stop when it's this wet. Going anymore and you will make the mess you speak of.
This gets the juice where you need and want it. Not going down the air hole and leaking at the battery connection. It's really a lot easier than it sounds, just go on the outside, if you go on the inside you risk damaging the coil and ruining the carto.
There are also tons of video's on youtube you can watch that will help minimize the mess, but the syringe or needle tip bottle are easy.
IF, you don't like the needles, then tilt the carto 30-45deg and let the juice run down the outside and soak into the filler material, rotate and carry on. This takes forever, but keeps the mess down as well.
Good luck, I hope this helped!

Hi, VanillaBlu. If your atomizer is shot, as you say, and cleaning doesn't help, just throw it out. You could try to take it apart and clean inside and dry burn, but it's not for the faint of heart. Here's a great tutorial from Vicky from Cignot:

That said, eGo-T is older technology; it has been replaced by the newer and better eGo-C atomizers. They are similar to Ts, but the atomizer coils can be replaced (they need to be purchased separately). They come in 1.8 and 2.2Ω (I recommend 2.2Ω and Type A--cone shaped--atomizers. Shop around for best prices, many vendors carry those. If you have eGo-T type A atties, the plastic tanks will fit eGo-C type A atties.

Other good options that will work with your eGo batteries are eGo threaded clearomizers with changeable coils (like Kanger T3 or Evod). You can also try simple cartomizers, single coils work best, I like Boge and SmokTech (510 threaded).
