cartomizer help please

Im somewhat new to vaping, and I personally drip my liquids, but I was fortunate enough to convince my granparents to switch to vaping as well. My grandfather cant see well and the only way he will use his Riva is if he has cartridges..my question is, do u need a cartomizer for this? He is presently using a low resistance atty, and no matter how many drops I load it with, hes only getting metal. I was told he could use the LR Atty, but it seems to not be working. Thanks in advance!

An LR atty should be used as a dripper. If you are using carts with it that is most likley the issue. They use a boatload of liquid and carts will have a hard time wicking enough to charge the coil with juice. You can try Boge LR 510 mega cartos. They give a nice hit and hold about 1ml of juice. I buy mine from nhaler. Liberty flights also has them.

While you are at it pick up a DT for the LR atty for him.

A 510 cartomizer should work fine on a rive, but then refilling them may be a choir for him. You may want to look into a bottom feeder juice box mod. They are the ultimate lazy vaping device

My suggestion is to get some of the CE2's that everyone here is talking about. Maybe your grandfather can see the levels in a clearomizer and can switch them out when they get low, then you or someone else can fill them for him. I'm thinking of doing this for a friend of mine and teach her family how to fill them.

I ordered/received 4 boxes of Volcanocigs Clear XL Cartomizers, 2.6~2.8 ohm, (somebody on another thread dubbed them Clearo's, and I love that). I vape 50/50 or greater % VG Cinnamon. I've had no cracks in my Clearo. I've been vapin and a fillin the same Clearo for more than two weeks. I DIY my own juice. Not a hint of a crack in my Clearo. It wicks well enough to keep up with my constant vaping. (It does wick better held horizontal or batt high). Only thing I've noticed. . .it seems to be a juice hog. Either that, or I'm enjoying it so much I've increased my vaping by 50%. I used to vape 2 E2 XL's a day. Now I find I'm well through the third. I haven't had any trouble filling them with the plastic syringe tip at all. In two weeks I finally bent one tip bad enough I switched to a new one. The Clearo tube is now spinning on the connector, so I've switched from using my ProVari to a Riva batt w/cone to help trap leaked juice, should it start leaking. But, so far no leaking yet. Maybe I'm just luckier than most. JMHO

If you can fill them for him, I would recommend the E2 cartomizer in the 2.8 ~ 3.0 ohm range. These are very clean tasting cartos as there is no filler to burn. The problem is, they are a pita to fill. But if you could fill them for him, you could fill all five at once or perhaps get two packs and fill all ten at once. These are long lasting cartos and should prove to be very cost effective as well as providing a great vape. Several vendors have them and they are starting to be available in clear as well. I always give older people prefilled cartomizers so they dont need to fill or drip.They can put them aside and someone can refill them or you can teach him how to refill a few at a time.JMO.

Some cartomizers are a clear PITA. The boge soft tip are very simple to fill and no syringes etc are needed. He could fill
3-4 the night before and have enough for a all day vape.

I also totaly agree with a bottom fed juicer. It is almost the ultimate in ease of use and I could absolutely see a senior going that route.

My mother can actually fill her own boge cartomizers (oh happy day!) Really easy.

I'm sooooo glad I decided to get her the Riva, since she actually lit her Smoke Tip the other day. I'm now in the process of hiding all the lighters in the house.
