That's just the way it is, cba191. Thick and/or dark = early carto demise. It's a good thing that most carto models are cheap.

Some cartos, notably echo-e, can be cleaned with varying degrees of success. They're around $5.00 each, so it's worth the effort to clean them. I have five of them I've cleaned six times, and after I've cleaned them they're like brand-new. The key to successful cleaning is to clean them before they get gunked up and hard to draw on.

I have no idea why a juice would be thick at 80PG/20VG

Are you sure you didn't accidentally order 80VG/20PG ? (I did that once)

And dark - dark is usually bad unless the juice is very clear and see-through. Dark juices are more likely to leave carto-clogging flavoring sediment (also clogs/gunks up atomizers). One member has a test for "slag" (what he calls what some juices leave behind). Shake the juice and drip a drop on hot aluminum foil. After the juice sizzles away, if there is a lot of "slag" left then that is what that juice will do to cartomizers and atomizers.

I also had a favorite juice that was dark. I loved it. FreedomSmokeUSA Cocoa. But the slag was too annoying. I kept trying others and found a suitable substitute that was light and clear.

How do you clean a carto

Hi Tricia,

Here is a video if you jump to 4:48 it will show you a quick cleaning method. You can then put them in the oven for drying.

I use this sometimes, but lately I've been using this cleaning kit, using a high proof vodka rinse. Works quite well, and they dry overnight. Here's link to SmokTek's thread.

Hope this helps. :)
