I'm still fairly new to these forums and to e-cigs in general. I've just started refilling my cartos, and I'm wondering if some of you veterans could provide a little information.

First of all, how many carts do you keep in rotation? And how often do you rotate them? I'm trying to determine if I have enough carts already, or if I need to buy more before I turn to refilling exclusively.

Secondly, how do you label your refilled carts? I've got a whole bunch of black carts that have a variety of names on them from the vendor. Now, chances are, I'm going to refill them with something completely different than what they originally shipped as. Is there a good method for labeling the carts so you know what you're picking up out of your collection of refills?

Thanks for your help!

One carto for each flavor. And they'll go bad after a month or two depending on how heavily you use that flavor, always have at least as many extra cartos as you have cartos in rotation.

People sometimes label the little white cap with a perm marker, label the carto itself with a metallic or paint pen, or use little labels. I've even seen people who color code with a dab of nail polish. Personally I label the little white caps. I usually vape with the top open so I can keep the carto wet and just put the cap back on when I rotate to a new flavor to keep the flavor labeled.

I have no real good way of doing it myself. I reuse them over and over and over till I noticed they are not performing well. I only use two strong powerful flavors (Atomic Cinnacyde & Rum) and mix them without noticing/taste the flavor from before...both are over powering. So in my case it really dose'nt make a difference. I certainly would'nt recommend my way to anyone else.

I have 4 cartos in rotation for 3 flavors (2 are filled with my favorite). When they're empty (I vape until I get that slight electrical taste) I just lay next to my "gear box". I'll refill whatever's laying there whenever there's a free 10 minutes. I'm sure I get at least 20 refills out of most of them. Ever once in a while there's a dud that I toss after 8-10 fills. I keep refilling until I notice a drop in flavor or vapor.

I have black also. I use a Pilot Silver Marker Extra fine Point to just make an initial.

+1 on marking the condoms with a perm marker. When I wash them out, I just scrape the marker off with my fingernail and relabel as necessary. I keep 2 cartos for each flavor that I am using heavily at the time, and about 5-10 backups for different flavor urges. I normally have 20 good cartos going at any given time and mostly reorder 10 at the beginning of each month.

Right now have a couple red cartos and use them for the sweeter juices. I have a light brown that I use for my lighter colored juice and a dark brown for my darker colored juice. That takes care of my 3 juices. Now that I believe I finally found the one juice I'm totally happy with, it will eventually make no difference as I'll be vaping just the one juice all the time - I hope. I prefer to keep around 5 prefilled cartos on hand plus 3 that I fill over and over.

If you are down to one juice, what is your THE ONE.

Um... lots. I rotate 5 at work, 8 at my computer desk, and 5 at my recliner. I rotate them every 5-10 minutes of active use, or a little bit longer if I'm not vaping as heavily. As for if you have enough cartos? Never, at least in my opinion. I've got hundreds of the little guys, and I'm still ordering. I still suggest refilling though. Refill like voting in Chicago - early and often.

I'm kind of bad about this. Usually I'll try to refill the same or a similar flavor in a carto. Sometimes I'll try to pick a color that I feel matches the flavor - light brown for chocolate, dark brown for coffee, green for mint/menthol/apple, red for cherry/strawberry/raspberry etc. Sometimes I'm on a new flavor, or can't find a good color, and I just go randomly. It's a nice surprise when I'm looking at a set of 5 cartos and I have no idea what they contain. I know I like all the flavors, but beyond that I'm in for a taste adventure.

ROFL! that was a nice one!
I label them with small labels I made myself, keeps me from mixing flavors - all of my carts are white so no color coding possible.

At this point in time, I'd have to say it's the GP USA made Vanilla from goodprophets.com. at 24mg. It's got just the right amount flavor without being too sweet or overpowering. It's also very smooth, whereas some I've tried were a bit harsh on the throat. It's also got all the vapor I need. A close second would be the Gypsy Toast from the same source. A friend, without having any ideas what it was, thought it smelled like syrup.

I was actually just thinking about writing a blog on the BIG mess I have with all my 401 carts and 808 cartos. I thought I was organized . . turned out I wasn't. I have stickers (lots of them), markers, paint pens, etc. but I couldn't keep anything straight. I just spent a couple of weeks on the Pay It Forward thread and received several colored cartos; I am going to see if this helps me! (I also, cleaned out my tackle box. I put most of my juice in the fridge and I am going to use only 3-4 flavors at a time.)

You have to understand - I just mixed Key Lime Pie with Smores by accident. I really do need another system cos this WAS AWFUL. So much for surprises.:-x:(:mad::oops:8-o :lol::lol::lol::lol:
