Hi I'm Melody and I've only been vaping since my kit arrived last Monday night. Amazingly, I've only smoked 6 analogs since then! It seems I try an analog once/day cause I think I want it and already dislike the taste!

First of all, I'd just like to say thanks for all of the information freely given here!

I do have a question regarding cartomizers and how hot they should burn. I've used V4L prefilled and blank premiums filled with TV juice on an auto VK. On several of the prefilled, the first couple tokes seemed to really heat up the carto to an uncomfortable level so I haven't really used them. On the blanks, it seems they just run hot after I've been smoking them for awhile. Will the carto itself get hotter as the juice gets low? Still hearing the pop and sizzle and good vapor but it's definitely hot. Maybe I'm just hitting it too much? The instruction book said 14-16 hits then let it sit for 30 minutes but usually 4-5 is good for me but I'm back at it probably 10 minutes later. Seems to be more of an issue with the freebie singles thrown in, I'm wondering if the juice somehow breaks down after they've been sitting for awhile? Or would the freebies be the non-premium cartos that would account for this? I've ordered some of the cool cartos to try next.

And in regards to the battery, is it better to frequently top it off or let it run a little low, then give it a full charge?

Thanks for your patience with us newbies!

ok, i'm using the V4L brand now too and i get hot cartomizers... i'll try the paper clip idea. BUT.... also they are getting harder to take a drag off of. it seemed to me they were heating up because i had to pull so hard to get a drag out of it. a different cartomizer doesnt fix the problem. I had the same problem with a previous brand and now i'm having the same problem here. it seems like the problem is with the battery. is there some way to clean it? seems they only last a week for me and then they just get harder and harder to use until you cant take a drag from it at all.

now my wife and i have over $200 invested in ecigs and i'm getting close to going back to regular smokes if i cant figure this out. very frustrating!!!!

Hi Melody,

I am also kind of new to vaping but from my experience when a carto runs too hot is usually that it is not correctly aligned (you shoul be able to look thru it). If this is the case, usually you can correct this using a paper clip.

Hope this helps

Cachi

Thanks Cachi! That was definitely the case with a couple of them!

Firefly804, I saw a good posting, "Things I have learned while using the 808" in the General E-Smoking Discussion > Model Specific Discussion area that helped me, maybe that will help you? I didn't realize there was model specific areas.... so much information, so little time!
