I accidently ordered pre-filled cartomizers.

I went from the 510 to the eGo. While I was ordering, I also ordered a pack of cartos. I was anxiously awaiting them because I ordered a whole bunch of sample flavors that I'm dying to try. I got the ego today, but was disappointed to find that the cartos were prefilled with menthol. I've been vaping like mad--I actually like what's in the cartos. And it's at a higher nicotine level than I've been vaping with the 510. I haven't had an analog since I started vaping on the eGo. (not saying that the urge is not there...)

It will be next week before I can afford to order anything else. I want to get some blank cartos. In the meantime, is there anything that I can to to add flavor to the prefilled ones?

Do a YOUTUBE search on cleaning cartomizers - I soak mine in boiling water and then blow hot water thru them with a syringe. You can use a turkey baster also. This will clean out the flavor left in them and you can add your new flavors. I learned by watching videos and it works pretty well!

:( I don't have a syringe or a turkey baster...

Yes, you can use the reverse Taryn spin to remove most of the liquid. Then just refill them with your own liquid. It works fine. I use an old knee-high sock, place the cartos at the bottom of the sock (all rubberbanded and facing the same way with the mouth-end down), and spin the sock like a windmill. Before you rubberband the cartos, pull each mouth-end condom down about 1/2 way. This will allow the juice to go into the empty part of the condom. Then you can throw out the menthol liquid or reuse it at some time. I overfilled some cartos earlier today, did the reverse spin, and it worked great and didn't take very long.

OK
Here is the easiest way to fill a cartomizer. I use this method and it never fails.

YouTube - A Great Way To Fill Cartomizers

That is what i do - the cap method (condom method). The only reason that some drip it in instead is you probably lose some juice on the cap and sides of the carto - but it is negligible. It is exceptionally easy however.

I'm not a carto user, but wouldn't the reverse taryn spin get a lot of the liquid out. Here's a youtube link YouTube - Reverse Taryn Spin , or search reverse taryn spin on youtube. You'll still have to vape through some menthol taste though. The boiling recommendation would get rid of that more completely.

Thanks for the link to the video! Very interesting. I also watched a couple of other videos by the same guy that were very interestingg.

Condom method works good, I prefer to drops from the top though no mess or waste that way, but doing it with prefilled carto's is tough due to the hard caps that are usually glued.

Yeah, I've noticed that the cartos don't look the same as those shown in the videos that show the "top fill" method. Maybe I can get these and my other stuff to last until next week and then order some of the empty cartos.

I used to use the condom method, too. But when I discovered it was much easier and much quicker just dripping from the mixture bottle into the filter, I quit doing the messier condom method. Now I have absolutely nothing to cleanup when I'm done, and I can refill cartos in about 1/2 the time. Yea, I save a little liquid, too, but that's not why I changed methods. I'd rather save time -- and I should mention dripping in a certain number of drops is much more accurate, once you know how many drops an empty carto will take. After you have more experience, I wouldn't be surprised if you change your refilling method. Most people do, I think.

LOL! I just finished watching that one too!

Doctor Vapor got the idea from Dogsbody (at ECF)/Doggsbody (at YouTube). I got the idea from Doggsbody at YouTube. It worked okay until I realized the direct dripping method was much faster and much less messy. I even save time by not having to use q-tips, kleenex, and wash my hands and desk every time I refill cartos. There's no cleanup at all after using the direct dripping method.

You could empty those cartos in about 10 minutes, if you use the reverse spin method. Honestly, it's very easy. Just follow the steps I gave you above.
