I have been experimenting with a bunch of different products (different clearos, tanks, RDAs, etc) but I have yet to try a Cartomizer tank. I was wondering what exactly are the benefits and drawbacks of running a cartomizer setup (soon to be on a Provari) and what people enjoy and hate most about them.

Mainly, I am wondering about taste and maintenance. Can anyone shed any light on this? I plan on running a glass tank from IBTanked with Boge Cartos. Any insight and advice would be greatly appreciated :)

For nearly 1.5 years, cartotanks have been my primary and preferred juice attachments. They provide me with the best flavor and vapor production of commercially made juice attachments. They are dependable and consistant, and are virtually maintanance-free once set up.

The most important step is to properly prime the cartomizer at the beginning; how well you do this will determine how that carto will perform for the rest of its life in the cartotank. So take your time and do it right.

Enjoy your new IBTanked's! :)

The 22mm tank will overhang the tapered part. It doesn't look great, IMO. A beauty ring would make the tank and ProVari look all the same diameter. The 19mm is the same size as the taper so it doesn't overhang. Just depends if you like the taper or not.

As far as functionality, there is no difference.

OH and i ordered the 22mm tank since I didnt know the EXACT size that I needed for the Provari. Is that a big issue?

Thanks for the info!

How often do you replace a cartomizer if you dont mind me asking? If you're using the same juice all the time is there a tall tale sign that it needs replacing?

For me, the telltale sign is when sequential vapes are no longer consistent. I found it hard to keep track by how many ml's of juice I'd gone through or how many days it'd been since I last swapped cartos. Don't forget to be patient your first few times priming...cuz I sure as heck wasn't. I ended up wasting more juice than I wanted and throwing away cartos I'd just removed from their wrapper, LOL.

For me, it's when the juice's flavor is no longer satisfactory or the draw is too stiff. This can vary from one carto to the next.

A 19 mm IBTanked will be the same diameter as the top of the Provari's tapered top (cone). A 22 mm IBTanked will be the same diameter as the main body of the Provari, and looks best IMO with a Pro Ring (beauty ring).
