Hey all,

Im new to e-cigs as of a week ago. Ordered though Vapor 4 Life and was very impressed by everything. I'm trying e-cigs with an eye to quitting altogether in the near future. Ive smoked for almost 20 years, about 10-15 a day, and with very little effort basically switched almost entirely to e-cigs. SO far so good...

Question/concern:

I use the automatic e-cigs, with the disposable cartomizers. When they are running low on juice, the vapor becomes a bit harder to draw, and increasingly acrid, and I feel like the last few dozen hits I am taking are actually electrical smoke or burning plastic from the heating element cooking the empty cartridge. Im making it a habit to chuck the carts out as soon as I feel they are starting to wind down, but does anyone know the safety of continuing to draw on an empty cart? Im concerned I'm inhaling toxic plastic which could be worse in many ways for you than cigarettes are...

ANybody who has a good sense of the anatomy of these carts that could chime in much appreciated!

It just concerns me that there isn't a clear cut off. Im still getting very decent vapor for a while, its just harsher. when its really dry its much more obvious, but Im not happy about any of that acrid smoke mixing in to the vapor...

It's like when you learn to drive a standard car and you wonder how you'll ever know when it's time to shift gears. Eventually you do it without thinking about it. It's sort of like that.

When you notice the vapor and flavor diminishing, stop vaping and refill.

When your taste buds improve, you'll be able to detect a dropoff in flavor before the carto gets dry. In the meanwhile, at the first hint of that burnt taste, stop using that carto and set it aside for refilling.

Forgot to mention - congrats on your progress!!

How long does it take [on average] for your taste buds to improve?

I don't know what average is, but within a couple of weeks I already had a notable improvement in both smell and taste.

One other key that you might be getting near the end is that the carto will vape much easier all of a sudden (probably due to low density of fluid).

I'll have to pay attention a bit closer I guess lol. I'm having a hard time telling when the flavor starts to drop.

For me as soon as the flavor seems to go "flat" I refill the carto. If concerned you may also want to consider the greencig cartos if your kr8 uses auto batts. More expensive but last longer and do not burn when dry. I have got these from lecig.com and nhaler.com.

They won't work with KR8 manual batteries?
