Anyone have a suggestion? I've seen conflicting information on the best ohm cartomizers and atomizers for a 5 volt device. One vendor advertises a Boge 3.2 ohm 510 cartomizer but states that it is not to be used on a HV device. I have recently read that higher ohm carts and attys are what should be used with 5 volts. It was recently suggested that a problem I was having with my 5 volt box mod (with 14500 batteries) cutting out was due to the low ohm (1.5) of the cart I was using (and a reg 2.5 510 didn't do much better.) So ---higher ohm?

1.5 LR will draw 2 Amps where a regular 2.5-3.2 Carto will draw more like 1 Amp, those the LR's are draining your Batts much quicker and stressing them more if you not using IMR Batts you should be, and ya the higher 3ohm Carto is better at 5v-6v Mad vapes sells some higher ohm Cartos check them out, you can also use the dual coil Cartos but wait a bit because the triple coil carto will be here shortly and that will most likely be the best one for you to use when it is out for your 5v-6v set up

Triple coil cartos?? Oh my! The duals rocked my world. Can't wait to try the trips. Thanks for the heads-up.

Dual coils would be your best bet for 5V.

boge 3 ohm cartos or Dual coil cartos are your best bet. Id suggest the DC though for 5 volt.

I'm not sure it is that "cut and dried". I really like a dual coil (DC) on my 5 volt box mod but it only works with high drain batteries. You use a DC with regular batteries and it may not work at all due to the protection circuit in the batteries which is the case with the protected batteries I tried. They just won't work and trip off as if they are dead. I also tried DC's with another 5 volt device and it blew out the switch and I had to get another switch. (it probably blew out the resister)

A standard 2.8 - 3.0 resistence atty/carto do work well on a 5 volt PV. I too prefer the DC's but I think a standard atty with a little higer resistence can also work well.

Thanks all---well, with the 14500 batteries I'm using it looks like the higher ohm 510 carts are the best bet. I think the vendor that suggested not using a 3.2 on a hv device had a misprint- I couldn't contact him but will try again. Are there 3.2 ohm dual coil cartomizers? Also, I think it would be a good idea for all vendors to be specific about what carts and attys work best on certain devices-Thanks again in advance

Thank you

This post answered the question which I have not found so far in YouTube or in other posts. It took 2 hours of searching and reading.

The, "what carto with what Mod voltage" question is a grey area rarely answered for us newbies.

I have a Bolt 3.7 V with AW IMR 18650 1600mAh

Megladon - same battery

Provari - same battery

THX much
