Cartos vs Atomizers vs Tank (Issues with my Cartos)

So, my wife and I have been enjoying our PVs for almost 2 months now. We're using a couple Riva 510's with Resurrector 1.7 Cartos (I use Boge NON-LR).

I don't use anywhere near as much juice as her... she only used to smoke 2-3 analogs a day, and she's gone through 5 30ml bottles already (24mg). Not sure if that's normal... :(

The issue we're having... is the Cartos are tasting burnt... REALLY fast... The Resurrectors are supposed to last super long (at least longer than my Boges). My wife fills them once, and vapes for maybe an hour, and pow, burnt...

Not sure if we're doing it wrong, filling, vaping, something, but I've done loads of research, and spent hours on youtube watching how to inhale properly (For beginners etc) and how to fill a Carto several different ways.

I was talking to a fellow vaper here locally, and he prefers the Atomizers... I've also been reading about the tank systems... I'm not sure I wanna switch with all this gear I already have but I'm a bit disappointed in the Cartos... I still don't fully understand how the tank or Atomizer systems would work as compared to my cartos... I understand my carto has an atomizer "built in" but it's still all a little foggy in my head...

Recommendations appreciated!!! :D

Little advise: take it or leave it:

go and learn to drip, when you get the hang of it, you will know how your vape should taste. Then start to look for a good battery mod, variable voltage, play with that a while until you find your sweet spot in terms of flavor, vapor, juice, nic strenght, throat hit etc. Come back to the forum and look around, there is so much info, I know sometimes too much but at that point you will be brought into the direction where you wanna go. So first things first.....don't forget to try some different juices, get samples, experiment. Taste is personal, but you will find your way soon into this wonderful world of vaping, don't give up and yes you have to spend a little, but you will be rewarded!!

What is also great when you start is a Volt style setup, get different flavors of carto's and try them out. Once you have found something which you like, get that juice and drip that onto an atty at different voltages, then you will know a little where to go next.

good luck! :vapor:

Thanks for the advice, but we aren't having an issue picking our juices. We love almost every flavor we've gotten. We're just going through it really fast...

I'm looking at these tank systems right now... but I just don't understand enough about them... they seem so much better than cartos and attys... but there isn't much info or reviews on them...

If you wife is vaping that heavy she has to keep refilling the cartos. In my carto days I was refilling/topping off every half hour or so. She might also consider keeping two PV going so it gets a chance to cool down and rewick between drags. As soon as the taste drops off, it's time for more eliquid. You never get close to them burning. She is probably wasting a lot of juice if she is tossing a fairly full burnt carto.

She would be a good candidate for a bottom feeder. They are less leaky and finicky than tanks. If you can afford it, check out REOs.

I use all two options+ one you did not mention.
A tank for on the go, an attie when sitting in my lazy chair, relaxing and wanting the best flavor, the carto alone I stopped using as with a tank the flavor is way better, it is much more convenient and less change of burning. I also use a bottom feeding mod, but you can compare that with dripping in terms of flavor etc...

I don't know what a bottom feeder is :D

Yeah she vapes a LOT... when they start tasting burn, what do we do? Can we add juice then? And how much? She puts like 5 drops in, and it still tastes awful... (We do the initial fill using the condom method)

You could certainly give these a try for $8 Carto Tank Mods . I like the 1.7ohm or the 2ohm on my 3.7v devices. I fill them like this: Chibi Tank Syringe Fill - YouTube I get my cartos from Crystal Clear Vaping and punch them myself (1.7ohm need one hole, the Boges need two), you can get syringes there too. :)

Indeed, I love CCV, that's where I bought the Resurrectors, a couple driptips, and some syringes. What do you use to punch the holes? Also, with tanks, are they "water tight"... I keep mine in my pocket a lot, and don't want it leaking all over me... or worse, leaking into the battery and killing it?

The micro hole works way better IMHO, the suction you create will make the draw less airy, the carto last longer as it does not get saggy and the juice flows very good because it is so small as there is much more pressure.

Can I punch holes in some of my existing cartos? I still have a box or 2 I haven't even opened yet.

Are the cartos you have already the stainless steel ones? The paper on the carto will have to come off and the glue removed if not. I have another video of me punch a carto w/ some stuff I found in my tool box, my camera falls over when I hit it, but it worked LOL Here: Easy cartomizer punch with household items - YouTube and: Cartomizer punch results. - YouTube and that's how I do all of mine. The 1.7's only need one small hole. I put two in the Boges.

My Chibi tanks don't leak and I keep them on my mods in and out of my pocket all day long. The Liquinator tanks slid up and down on the carto too easily and DID leak sometimes. Those little $8 tanks have been extremely good to me and I can get 3 of them for the price of one Liquinator...so there's that. ;)

You have to refill before they taste burnt. Once burnt the polyfil has charred and you'll not get rid of the burnt flavor. You can usually pick up that the flavor has died off right before burn stage. 5 drops may not be enough and she should be pulling off the white soft cap and dripping juice along the side of the cartomizer at an angle. You can usually see whether you need more liquid by how slushy the polyfil looks. She probably could use a drip tip for the cartomizer so it's easier to add ejuice.
