Ok ladies and germs, rather than hijack a thread I decided to create a new one.

Certain respectable members of the ECF harp on the importance of proper cartridge alignment. I've been vaping away foot loose and fancy free now for over a month without the slightest regard to alignment. Am I missing something? Oh, and I have a 510 and love it.

I use flat tips on the 510 and use the foam plug with the straw mod along the round edge of the cart and put the straw on the top aligned with the button - better for the air flow. That's the only "alignment" I do. Not one problem.

The foam doesn't interfere, get stuck on, or mess with the bridge but even when I used ptb or the oem filler/polyfil - never had a problem.

I think most of the time a cartridge melts from over heating the atty by huffing (common when we get the new toy, ha).

I've also seen the bridge be made where it is crooked (a bit close to the walls of the atomizer), and have gently straightened mine out. I don't know if it is a heat transfer to a crooked bridge that may be making a cart melt, but I always check mine and move it over a bit if it needs it.

I do try to line mine up, though for the longest time, lined it up with the bridge rather than the pot. Haven't melted a cart yet doing it the way I do.

Exactly!

I've found that the "bridge" of wire mesh inside my atty that contacts the filler material of my carts must be centered to avoid any contact with any plastic parts on my carts. I too have also very carefully bent this mess bridge inside my atty so that it is perfectly centered and voila! And I agree that yes, if you vape too quickly without giving the atty time to cool down between vapes, it can melt the edges of my carts.

I have also filed down no more than 1/8" of plastic off of all my refillable carts so that it cannot contact the atty bridge no matte what I do. Of course now I ensure that my cart filler material is flush with the "new" edge of my cart so that it comes in direct contact with my atty bridge.

Just my thoughts.

I thought you were supposed to align the rounded oval of the battery end of the cartridge with the white rounded oval inside the atomizer (under the wicking threads)? While the Joye atomizers have those, SLB's just have round rings.

I've seen a picture of that somewhere, but couldn't find it for you just now.

I've been wondering about that. There are times when I get a little carried away, huffing and puffing, and now notice that a few of my round tips are slightly melted at the filler end. Another "new" thing to fidget with.
