Hi,

Just thought I'd say hi, and post my own story here.

I've been smoking about a pack a day for 20 years.

Last week, I decided to try out E-cigs, so I bought a 510 Ego.
Did ok for the most part, but just couldn't get used to filling cartridges without overfilling, cleaning fillers, not flooding the atomizer, and the loose strands from the filler just drove me nuts.
Not to mention the cartridges didn't last long, specially when I got some PG juice, and the funky taste I'd get if I smoked too often or when the cartridges were getting empty.

A couple of days ago I ordered the Ego-T atomizer and some new cartridges, and what can I say, I love them.
I am now 2 days analog free. Don't have issues with the atomizer running dry, each cartridge lasts me a day or more. So far, no signs of flooding, and no funky tastes (other than the RY4 I ordered which is just too damn sweet).

And that's my story :)

Good for you, I'm new too! I smoked for 40 years. It's been almost a month now that I've been vaping. I started out with a Riva 510 from Liberty Flights purchased for 20% off thanks to the great tips & info on this forum. After a few days I decided I did not like filling cartridges either and ordered some drip tips which I like better.

After a few weeks of dripping I started looking into the EGO-T system also. I decided to heck with that I'm going for the gusto and ordered a Rio Mini. It should arrive tomorrow. You can teach an "Old Dog" new tricks!

I'm thrilled with this forum. I had never even seen an e-cigarette before I started and have already helped a friend who was a heavy smoker switch. Thanks everyone.

Thanks for all the cheerful replies guys.

I do have a question though:
Since I'm fairly new to being analog free (in 20 years I think at most I've spent 12 hours without a smoke), I'm getting this feeling of "something lacking". Don't get me wrong, vaping is quite fulfilling, I just can't shake this odd need for something (which i can't even properly put into words). I'm sure you all went through it at some stage, so I am wondering, how did you deal with it? or did you just ignore it and push through?

Cheers.

Way to go!

Those 510Ts are great lil' units, except for the batt capability. You can buy larger batts and use the T system.

As to "something lacking", are you saying smoking wise or ritual? I think one very important factor is finding an e-juice that you love, something that you look forward to vaping.

1) make sure you get enough nic.... pay attention... not too much tho.
2) About week 2 or 3 the real withdrawal hit me... only lasted a week. Push through it.

You can still get enough nic. And by then end of a month, your taste and smell are back and you don't stink like cigs and and and... lots of good stuff. Saving $$ isn't bad either.

Also, it varies for each one of us. Some stay with the cig-sized stuff. Some move to eGo type big-batts and lower ohm atties/cartos. Others, like me, move to 5 volts. Hits like a cig, warmer, stronger vape. I smoked full flavored, so I missed that. 5 volts. 3.0 ohm joye atties. Works for me.

So yes, you have to detox from tobacco.

It's hard to say because only you know what you feel you are missing.
And what makes it harder is that you don't know what you feel you are missing.
:)

It could be that you are missing some parts of the ritual of smoking.
You'll develop new rituals to replace the old ones.

It could be that you are not getting enough nicotine, but it doesn't sound like you are CRAVING cigarettes.
If you were though, that could possibly be it.

It could be that you miss the convenience of smoking.
But as you get your routine down this will get more and more convenient.

It could be that you miss some of the other things in tobacco besides the nicotine.
I would give it some more time before coming to that conclusion though.

Here is a good thread on that subject...

Or it could just be that you miss your old friends.

And here is a great thread to help you look forward to your new life without them!!

Where would we be without technology? Everything we do today and all we interact with today utilizes some form of technology. Why should it suprise anyone that these days we have an different choice to traditional cigarettes as well? Not just that, but the selection is a technological resource.
