Hello, ECF, I just bought a pack of fluval from the pet store a few days ago and have been restuffing my blanks with it.

Problem is, it's the big fluffy cottony 100% polyester kind, not the sheet kind I have seen people use in videos.

$6, I figured I'd give it a try and maybe it would hold me over until I could get some fluval sheets in the mail. It's a pain in the .... to stuff in, and I get the feeling that I sometimes pack it too densely, such that hardly any juice can soak into it.

Another thing I noticed is that it seems to wick very slowly. On a fresh cart the first several hits are fine, but they fall off... however if I let it sit for a while, the vapor production and flavor comes back for a few more puffs before it's exhausted again. All those wiggly, fine fibers, perhaps. I probably waste half of the juice because I give up on the cartridge before it gets totally dry.

Anybody have experience using the fluffy Fluval? Advice and such? Or should I just place an order for sheets and toss the bag of fluff?

    Hi Carl--

I have no experience with this material, I have switched to dripping altogether. But I do remember when I used carts, the less material the better was the general rule I saw in effect. If you are "stuffing it in there" then its too tight and won't wick. Try about 1/2 of what you have been trying. It might work until you get the other material. Hope this helps you and Good Luck!

It really depends on the thickness of the juice you use. I went from a high VG blend to a high PG blend today and forgot to grab different carts. I ended up drinking e-juice everytime I puffed.

I'm sure playing around with it will give you an idea as to how much to use. If it has loose strands be sure to trim those off the atty side so they don't get cooked.
