Cartridges, refilling and dripping.

Greetings again ^^

I am just curious how many people refill their own cartridges, and how many simply buy new ones? What are the benefits of the former, is it much cheaper? I've been syringing the 'nearly' empty cartridges and filling up ones I've washed out, hitherto.

IMHO new cartridges are great for a while. When the vapour starts to fade away I firstly check that the battery is fully charged and, if so, I then add 1 or 2 drops of e-liquid and a drop of glycerine. I find that this delivers vapour for longer than just running the cartridge alone. I have yet to cost out whether this is a cheap method or not - but I suspect so if for no other reason than the low cost of glycerine.

Hi, I make my own juice too and use commercial eliquid. It's cheaper, less wasteful than replacing cartridges and there is a bigger variety of flavours to try.

I've ordered 25 or so packs of the Heavy Shag from Janty; what I might do is keep the cartridges and wash them out, then experiment with bottles of liquid. I initially picked up the glycerol for the purposes of topping up my carts on my other e-cig, but have yet to experiment much.

The only thing I can think might be a problem is if you like a harsh vapour (I don't know if heavy shag is) then diy mix with glycerine might be too smooth for you. I've found my homemade mix is smoother than most commercial juices, it might be to do with additives.

That's the reason I ordered the Shag, I'm pretty keen on having a nice throat hit (someone here described it perfectly as "shallowing scalpels"). It also seems pretty adjustable on how harsh you want the hit to be, depending on when you inhale. Last time I used glycerol it did smooth it out, although there was at least plenty of vapour Will see how it goes with the Shag,

Only bad thing about it is the smell, it's pretty pungent; I like it, but some others around me do not.
