I've been wondering what causes this to happen quickly. My wife and I both use the CE2 flux and in general have very good luck with them. I have an ipro and she is happy using a eGo 3.4v style batteries.

Does the gunking up happen because of higher voltage baking the juice on the coils or does it happen more when using a lover voltage unit with a higher resistance carto?

I've been using vinegar to soak my CE2 fluxos. Does Vodka work better?

haven't tried vinegar. my mother used it to clean for years and can't stand the smell. chose vodka because i read about atty cleaning success here. in a pinch i can just dry with an aircan and go. no taste concerns.

if you keep enough ce2 in rotation (some soaking, some drying, some vaping), it's easy to have a constant supply. i tried but just couldn't get the same result with cartos.

have the gemoro ultrasonic also, but it's really overkill. it gets these things really clean (like new), but it wears hard on the wicks.

so +1 for vodka. but damn i'm a scotch drinker.

My wife and I both use them and we have about 25 so I do a weekly cleaning ritual ;-) Hers seem to gunk up sooner vaping at 3.4v and 3.7v then mine go at 4.0v to 4.5v. Her juice is not sweet so I'm not sure why this happens. Maybe the higher voltage just burns the juice off better?

Raidy carried out an experiment using straight PG 100ml through an automatic "pump" so no chance of flavourings, etc contributing to the results and it gunked up pretty badly. It was not the juice however, but airbourne particles that were incinerated into a black buildup.

Do you have a link to Raidy's work?

I'm not sure how Meaning this result is in that Very Few People vape Pure PG.
