There was no information about this on the Vapor King site, so I'm posting it here for other customers to find.

I'm a new VK customer and ordered an eGo kit. My old M4 isn't working any longer, so I wanted to get the eGo ASAP. On the shipping page, I chose UPS for an additional $13.88 to hopefully expedite my shipping but it turns out the package is going to take EIGHT DAYS to get here!

I went on the Post Office's site and used their calculator to see how long THEY would have taken -- turns out Priority Mail would have cost $4.95 and taken TWO days (not sure if this link will work)

So in case you're wondering -- CHOOSE THE USPS OPTION, NOT UPS! There is NO indication of shipping time on the VK site; don't guess like I did!

yikes that stinks.. If it helps any, I use to sell and buy on ebay on a regular basis and I never had a UPS package of any size actually take that long to get to or from a destination in the US.. I'm guessing your are in the US too so maybe there is an error on the info or something..

EDIT: lol I'm not guessing no more, just saw the california part.. It's never taking 8 days for UPS to ship there from the east coast, so don't see it doing so from anywhere else..

My experience has been that USPS priority takes 2-3 days regardless where the two parties are in the continental US.

UPS, on the other hand, takes 3+ days, won't leave something on your doorstep even if you ask them to, and leaves a note on your door LYING that they tried three times to deliver, requiring you to go down to the seediest part of town, wait in line, and spend 15 minutes while they locate your package. Then they tell you it is still on the truck, but feel free to come back tomorrow.

Trust me on this one, never use UPS. The third or fourth time I had something delivered, I took the day off work, was sitting in my home office NEXT to the front door when the dogs started barking. I went to the door and the guy was running to his truck. Sticker on door said three attempts. I chased after him with the sticker and got my package, stuttering when I confronted him with the sticker which said he'd made three attempts.

I will never use UPS again. For all the grief we give the government, they have mail delivery down...

Hi Entendu,

First off I am sorry you are having to wait for your order.

Sometimes we (us here at VK) suffer from "too much knowledge". What I mean by that is we've been in this business for a year and a half now and we know how everything works. We sometimes falsely assume everyone else does as well. when I edit parts of the website I don't think about others not knowing how certain things work and I don't cover that information just assuming it's common knowledge. It's like asking an automotive design engineer to write a user manual for a car. Step #1: Drive the car.

I'm also often pressed by the amount of screen space I have to work with and have to try to relay a large amount of info in a very small space.

UPS Ground was added to our site to offer an alternative for those who either 1) hate the USPS service or 2) cannot get rural USPS mail delivery.

Each has their own issues but honestly we like both. We've shipped over 13,000 packages with the USPS and have only had about 6 go completely MIA. A few late deliveries or mis-routes now and then but otherwise I can't complain at all. Most orders get to the destination within 2-3 days and that includes Hawaii, Alaska, Guam and Puerto Rico. All for less than $5.

UPS has also been spot on for us on every shipment so far. But as you now know their Ground service isn't the quickest.

I do apologize you are having to wait. I will make sure to update the site with that information so it won't be an issue in the future.

Also just for clarification to anyone, the order was placed on Saturday evening and didn't ship until Monday afternoon. Still, I realize 7 days sucks.

Thanks for your message - as I've always told people, we can't correct problems if we don't know about them!

Hey Rob, just read your new Shipping page. That's great!

As a consultant, I have a lot of client-facing interaction. I just wanted to tell you that your response was absolutely excellent and I appreciate you taking the bull by the horns on something that was frustrating to me. Rest assured I will tell the story of the business that put up an entire page about shipping on their website because I told them I was confused!

Very well done!

UPS is reliable they put a date for delivery and you can track the package every step of the way and it will almost always arrive on that date. Farther you are away from destination the longer it takes. You can go to UPS https://wwwapps.ups.com/ctc/request?loc=en_US&WT.svl=PNRO_L1 and it'll tell you how long.

USPS is haphazard they make absolutely no guarantee that they will deliver in 2-3 days. You run a higher risk of delayed or lost package with USPS than UPS which is why many people prefer the reliability of UPS even at a higher cost and average delivery time.
