Lithium metal batteries banned as air cargo - Business - CBC News

Only batteries shipped separately as cargo are affected by the ban, not batteries already contained in or packed with equipment.

Canada’s prohibition comes into effect on Jan. 1, 2015.

vape on...

Edit: Another poster has stated that This only applies to passenger flights. If the flight is strictly a cargo flight, the prohibition does not apply. Thank you retired1.

I'm not quite sure but they probably don't know if a device has a battery in it or not, it's my best guess.

I ordered a vaporizer with a battery in it from fasttech, when I received it, there was a problem with the battery, it heated up a lot, I unplugged everything, shipped it back and got my refund. Batteries can be dangerous so I understand they won't want it in an aircraft.
