Time to narrow it down. We've had our scuffs with CC theft but not any time recently. Here are the venders I have ordered from since I've started vaping and have had no issues:

Tasty Vapor
Vapor Kings
Strictly E-Juice
Madvapes LLC
PureSmoker

Okay so it's a small list but I think we can cross them off. Especially VaporKings and TV.. I've oredered a LOT from those two.

Sorry Lea, know just how you feel... for the very first time I just had this happen to me. Fraud Alert called and woke me up at 7AM questioning a $500.95 charge to THE big discount store. Thank God they were on the ball and caught it, called me, denied the authorization, then cancelled the card. I shop online lots but if I feel at all unsure about a purchase I use a virtual card with limited time and funds.

Guess I will have to use this round-about process with all future purchases on new card. Damn!

Have you done a very very good virus scan on your computer(s) to verify you dont have a hidden virus capturing keystrokes?

Good point. The common denominator seems to be ECF. Perhaps there is a predator lurking. Chat rooms are great places to drop malicious links.
I would download a good firewall program if you don't already have one. I use the paid version of zonealarm but this version is free.
ZoneAlarm Free Firewall - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

Also a free program called KeyScrambler.
KeyScrambler Personal - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

last week i had my checking account compromised also. the only online orders i have ever made were from 3 ecig companies. I noticed that something was up when I had a charge from Valve Software for 89 dollars. Then I looked down and there was a charge from a music store in kentucky for 1300 dollars. I just looked around on the forums today and saw this. I dont want to point the blame towards a specific company, as said before it may be the people approving the cards, however it cant be ruled out. where were everyones fraudulent charges paid to? perhaps we all have had compromises paid to the same companies?

Ya guys---I hate to report this also happened to me last wed--they charged nearly 2,000 on my card...put me in the neg something fierce. My bank is correcting everything, but like everyone else no card in the meantime--and having to deal with the BS that is involved is crazy. I have decided all online banking will be done with a PP CC.

Really frustrating is all I know!!

The Valve software people are a charge that shut down my first CC. I now use a prepaid card for my online purchases, but a CC I use for auto payments for utilities was just hit. So I honestly think it isn't related to the online suppliers.

+1 for prepaid cards! I personally use my PayPal Debit card for everything I do online because you have the option to use your checking as a backup funds source and limit your daily spending. So if I know I'm going to make a purchase for $50, I put my limit at $60 just in case I see something else I want lol! But nothing else after that will be approved until the next day, and even then it would only be 60 bucks instead of my entire spending limit!

Great to have for online purchases in my book!

My understanding is that there is a big difference between debit cards and credit cards.

Everybody here keeps talking about their "credit card" , but I bet many are actually debit cards.

With my credit card, the bank takes any disputed amount off immediately.

A friend who has a debit card says it is up to her to prove that it was fraudulant. This took 6 months once.

A credit card is much better than a debit card if your credit rating is good enough to get one.

It is quite possible that there is malware on your machines. I posted in a previous thread about some good free software to combat viruses and spy-ware and will link back to it here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/pay-forward/112925-pif-friends-heads-up-2.html#post1724143

Keep in mind that if you physically hand your card to a teller to swipe it, you could be in danger, as there are very small magnetic readers out there that will record all the info from a card just by waving it past the scanner.

Also, a lot of people are either A) On an unsecured home wireless network or B) On a public wireless network (Starbucks, McDonald's, etc) which can also put your credit card info at risk if you are placing orders. Just an FYI.
