Hi. I was hoping someone could help me. I did a search but I couldn't find anything that really helped. I bought some ce2 cartos and I can't seem to get rid of the chemically and sometimes burnt (but mostly chemically) taste to these. I've tried the 'frayed edges mod' and the 'tea bag mod' and a 'dry burn'--still nothing helps. Out of 5, one actually tastes good. The other 4 taste horrible. Is there anything I can do to fix these? Or something I can do to prepare unused ones (I ordered a few boxes) so that taste goes away?

Thanks in advance!

I'm still new to the CE2s, but they do have a funky taste initially. My experience is the first fill tends to do this, maybe from some residue left after construction, but that after that this taste goes away. But it looks like you have gone through this, since you are now modding them, which I have not done, nor had a reason to. They do need cleaning after several fills though, in my experience.

I suggest cleaning it out completely, then dripping on the coil and seeing if it is vaping ok. These cartos can be dripped quite nicely, since they are almost the same as a 510 atty without the bridge.

I've seen some suggest burning the wicks (with a blowtorch or similar) although I've never done this personally. This will certainly burn off any traces of whatever residue may be on them. With the clear plastic ones this is fairly easy as the body pulls off with little difficulty, giving easy access to the wicks. Pulling up the silicone seal slightly from the ceramic cup can also help I believe. Like Kurt, I've noticed some of them can taste a bit off at first, but for me, this tends to go with use..

The real experts on these are in this thread, maybe further suggestions can be found here - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-c-e2-r4-review-tips-info-help-video-251.html

Incidentally I've not noticed any odd taste with the Clearomizers, although I have seen reports from some stating the opposite. It seems these carto's truly divide opinion!
