I bought these from Jack at www.happyvapors.com and received them in the mail a couple of days ago.
Blank (empty) cartomizers (cartridge + atomizer combined into a single unit) for the 510 model of e-cigarette.

I got an email personally from Happy Vapor to clean them first before use. I have read reviews on the forum and had mixed feelings about these carto's. It seems some really like them, some had problems right off the bat, and then went back to them, and others just despise them. I took the advice from happy vapers before trying them out, cleaned them in 5% malt vinegar, I didn't have the white so I soaked them all in the malt vinegar, for a few hours, rinsed, put them on a heating vent to dry them out, did a dry burn a few times, and put my first one together last night. I have non stopped vaped off this carto! I love it! The vape is amazing! I don't get a dry mouth like I did with the cartridges. The first juice I tried, was the Black Cherry tobacco that I purchased from www.juicyclear.com. What is so strange, is that I am getting a much fuller flavor using these CE2 R4's! I found also, that my carts were only holding a few drops, and such a dry feeling to it, always having refill. It sometimes felt like I was vaping air. I have been vaping off this carto now for 3 hours with no refilling! what I did, was use the rubber tip needle that came with my carto's package, and filled it with 1.4ml of juice. I put the little needle in the two holes in the carto, and plunged half in one side and half in the other, rotating the carto as i plunged. I truly love this product and I think I prefer the carto's over the carts by far! I have yet to try some other flavors yet in these new carto's but will tonight. I love the juicy clear's juice as it is so easy to put in the little holes. But VG, there is no way I can get it in the little holes. It is just too thick, unless someone has another idea on how to get it in there, I will have to stick to dripping my amaratto vg from vapables. I also need to try putting in my number 7 flavor I got from www.vapables.com, to see if that will go in. While filling these carto's, what I did was put the battery end over the open bottle of Black Cherry Tobacco so that if there was any leaking out that end, it would leak back into my bottle. I have had no leaking with this carto since I filled it and set it up, and thoroughly enjoy vaping from it! All in all, I would say this is somthing I would recommend highly to anyone who wants to fill up and have a carto ready for the day, without the hassle of having to refill. The vape is so amazing that even after I exhale the vape..and sit there for a moment, I notice more vape coming out my mouth! Now that is true vape experience! Would be awesome for people too, whom have long drives ahead of them. Remember Don't drip and drive!

Thanks to Rob and Jack for yet another great product from Happy Vapors!!:vapor:;)

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the CE2s, I myself started on those and actually quite enjoyed them. Then I tried the boge cartos and ever since I can't go back. I have a brand new 5 pack of the CE2s that I never even opened because they came with the first pack of boges I tried. I did a few syringe mods on them and it was novel but in the end I find the boge cartos perform better on all counts (except capacity) and I won't be going back.

By the way, I got a laugh when I read that you used malt vinaigre to clean them out. I suppose ya gotta use what's on hand :p did it leave any malt taste at all?

No malt taste at all! I was quite surprised!! But I did rinse the heck out of them, let them dry and did dry burns. Honestly, I flavor enhanced my ejuice I think doing it this way! I am going to malt vinegar my ce2s r4 this way from now on..and perhaps even my atty's and bats!

I am glad you are having luck with yours. I have been fiddling around with one with no luck. I did a good rinse, sat it on a heater for a bit, then a dry burn. I filled it all the way up, only to find it still had an aftertaste and I found the draw quite airy. The next one I will try a vinegar soak first and see if that helps, and I won't waste all my juice filling it up all the way, lol. Do you take out the inner ring also when you rinse it? I left that one in, might not have got a good enough rinse done. I have been hovering over the thread for them for some ideas and tips but it is 504 pages long!!!

I left mine in as well. No after taste, no dry air feeling, just a full flavored vape experience. maybe try malt vinegar like I did..if you are brave enough! Ya i was in that thread as well, and no way was I going to go through all the pages too. They need to condense that thread and get rid of all the chatter!! i did read a few pages though and got mixed reviews on the ce2 r4. I decided to take the plunge. Glad I did!

LOL, yes its a very long thread.
I take all the rings out and I put the silicon condom on the threaded end. Fill it up with white vinegar and put the silicon condom on the open end, turn thread side up and put in a shot glass or pill bottle and let sit for a hour or two.
After this I rinse out very well with running hot water making sure to flick the carto to get as much of the water out as possible.
Then dryburn it, giving it a flick now and then to get rid of any water that is drawn up while doing this.
Reassemble the carto being careful to line the inner ring up properly with the wick slots, fill and enjoy.

If you are having wicking problems try lifting the inner ring slightly away from the cup.
Another thing that works well for me is to put a folded PTB strip(2 fold, like a letter) in the C-E2's by the wicks/slits. leave the PTB strip sitting so level with the top of the cup and put the inner ring in upside down.
This has the added advantage of being able to remove easily so that you can drip down the side of the carto to fill when using thicker juice.

Here is a recent video from Badkolo with tips for the C-E2's, I clean my C-E2's the way he shows now, but I do do the vinegar soak the 1st time.

Hope this helps, all the best,
Wing

Hey Danesnpits,

I really love/d the CE2's as well but ran into a serious roadblock once I went to my all day vape which is 30% VG Geoffs Blend from Tasty Vapor. Fantastic taste and vapor with the CE2's the first time I use it, after that the juice plays havoc with the coil. I get juice gunked up near the slits around the coil and nothing dislodges it. This allows me to use each carto like it was meant to be used, just once, maybe twice. That is the end of a carto for me. I am now back to dripping at home, and I use the cartos as disposables when in the car. I generally get a couple of trips to groceries etc. per carto.

They were great with a higher PG content juice, as they didn't gunk up as much.

Still eyeing the Tank system.. have not yet got into that yet as I still have around 15 or 20 CE2's left in my stockpile and an equal number of bridged and bridgeless 510 atties to go through.

Thanks for the review!

I never bother putting that inner plug back in anymore. Then I can just tilt them and drip directly into them. I put two of the smaller white plugs in and a drip tip to hold them in place. Though it can leak if you are not careful or overfill them.

I got some of the boge cartos the other day. While they don't have that metallic flavour I always hated on cartos I find them just ok. I will have to try another one with a different flavour as some of the other cartos I have used in the path taste better with different flavours.

There is something I fail to understand and maybe folks can help me out. Why do we need to go through all this hooplah straight out of the box. ... and we are on rev4, rev5 on the clearomisers???

Hey Switched, What have you finally settled on? How's it working out? Are you bottom feeding, dripping or tanking?

I'm still searching for that perfect vape, and everytime I seem to find it, I find something that does not work right..

I'm sure your insight would be helpful to more than a few..

Hey Switched,

I believe I can clarify the issues as I studied this in-depth to find out what all the hub-ub was about.

Rev 4 - Rev 4's are being sold off completely now as far as I know, making way for the Rev 5. The wicking in these cartos have a mysterious antibacterial chemical (supposedly no one knows really what it is) that burns quite easily. Basically the chemical will not burn at all if the wick isn't kinked or caught in such a way in the "inner plug" that juice can only wick in one one side, etc.

When the chemical burns it supposedly tastes absolutely disgusting and will not go away until the chemical is burned off with a torch lighter . dry burn or a simple soak under the tap and using a paper towel to soak up the water. The actual wick itself will not burn at all, even if subjected to flame.

Rev 5 - These are the first CE2's I was actually willing to try because the wick does not contain that chemical. Unlike the steel rev 4's R5 Clearomizers come apart easily with a good tug, so any wicking issues can be corrected manually as well. I actually like the R5 clearomizers a little, but they would be even better in XL and at 2.6-2.8 ohm rather than 2.8-3.0 ohm because I like a monster throat hit.

I don't know if it'll help anyone but I myself purchased the ce2 r5 clearomizers and have had no problems with them right out of the box as far as burnt taste or wicking problems. the only compliant I have is that I find them to be very brittle the first 2 of the cracked on the sides from being in my pocket on regular my 510 batt which probably is kinda my fault but I was pretty mad as I ended up with a pocket of liquid. I have since only used them on my ego with the cone and had no problems. If your having problems with I would recommend cheking out DJbizzum and also ShanBurkholders videos on youtube because of them I was able to put my broken ones to good use.

Agreed VaporGuy, very good out of the box performance :) And that happens to be a couple of my sources when it comes to the CE2's.

I am still fiddling with mine and I am having a heck of a time getting that inner ring out. I destroyed 1 carto already figuring out that the white part that you see inside that inner ring is actually the top of the cup and not part of the ring, duh (I think I should have been a blond, lol). Needless to say I totally crushed it. Is there any trick to doing this cause the thing just won't budge?

The trick is to bend a thin paperclip straight and insert it into one of the two filling holes. You can pry out the seal by simply avoiding that cup and prying up on either the sides. This is another reason I don't like the steel r4's. Sadly I can't find a good video to demonstrate this one.

On a Clearomizer none of that prying is necessary. I just use the carto until I feel it is empty enough and go to the sink, give the tube a good "tug" and the whole tube comes off, seal and all, without the need to stick a metal pin or paperclip near your ceramic cup or anything.

Here are a couple good videos on this topic:
