Thank you very much, Central Vapors, for giving me the opportunity to review "Honor", from your Privileged Line of eliquids. It's my opinion if Honor stays true to the 1002 formulation, you'll have a best-seller on your hands.
Review of Vapor Central's Privileged Line, "Honor" Overall : A-
Throat Hit (in 12mg): A smooth punch, no harsh edges.
Summary: The aroma that waifs up from the opened bottle of "Honor" batch 1002 brings to mind strawberries, watermelon and creamy pear sweetness. It's a happy smell the beckons the user to drop everything and vape it's deliciousness, but the attraction doesn't stop there! Dragonfruit comes out of hiding to reveal itself on the exhale, balancing the cream with just a slight hint of acidity, imparting a 'clean' feeling to the mouth while vaping. Lack of chest-heaviness or funny aftertastes, colorless flavorings in the formulation and a smooth throat hit contribute to make "Honor" a winner for the sophisticated palate. II can very much imagine myself sitting by the lake, enjoying the fresh air and happily vaping away on "Honor."
To be noted: Between the two samples provided, Batch 1002 was superior in bottle smell and palatability. I'm not sure if it was a slight difference in formulation or if it was the pepper of the nicotine in batch 1123 working against the cream and magnifying the acidity. But whatever the cause, 1123 was more to the dry side, allowing the cactus-y/zuchinni-ish/acidic undertones of the dragonfruit to become prominent and the cream to lose it's shine. Still very acceptable but not as tasty, to me, as 1002.
.
Appearance: Batch 1002, a 0mg/ml sample, is transparent and colorless. Batch 1123, a 12mg/ml sample, is transparent with a slight yellow tinge.
Batch 1002 :
Smell: Full-bodied, strawberry/watermelon-y aroma, sweet, with a creamy topnote and a hint of pear and citrus, lacking any obvious 'green' elements. Water test: lightly sweet and pleasant, no acidic element apparent. One day decanted: same aroma RTV: Full-bodied mouth feel, plenty of flavor, lightly sweet and fruity on inhale with tangy dragonfruit on exhale. Excellent vapor production. Decanted sample vape: Identical to RTV. Sweetness faded and the taste approached that of batch 1123 as I pushed towards 14watts. Best for me at 7-7.5w, 2.0ohm single coil, MVP2.
Batch 1123 :
Smell: A weaker, less sweet version of 1002, with a more prominent green cactus/zuchinni rind-ish note. Water test: more acidic than 1002, a slight pepper to the nicotine. RTV: Not as full-bodied as 1002. The sweetness imparted by the cream seems muted by the acidic note that comes through prominently on both inhale and exhale. The throathit is a smooth punch, very satisfying, not harsh, scratchy or ticklish, and the nicotine-pepper noted in the water test is not a noticeable taste in the vape. Vapor production is excellent. Decanted sample vape: No change. Remains on the dry side. Flavor became more 'cactusy' the higher in watts I went. Best for me at 7.5w, 2.0ohm single coil, MVP2
Equipment: Tanks used were a clearo 1.8ohm, a glasso (protank2) 2.0ohm, and a generic stainless at 2.2ohm. Samples were vaped across a range from 3.7 watts up to 14w using a iStick and a MVP2, and off-the-shelf single coils.
Process: Batch 1002 at 0mg/ml and Batch 1123 at 12mg/ml. Both samples were shaken for 5 minutes. One mil of each was decanted into clean 4ml bottles, tilted to expose a larger surface volume to the air in the bottle and vaped in tanks on the second day tasting. Water test consists of 4 drops eliquid in 3 mls water and swish-tasted.
