Ceramic wick - pros and cons?

I don't see a lot of discussions or recommendations here on ceramic wicks and I'd love to hear more about that, specially pros and cons compare to more common wicking materials (silica/cotton and such).

This is for the xc-116 ceramic (rope?) and not the hard porous ceramic.

I tried a Genesis style tank wicked with it at a recent vape meet, and it was really good. I didn't detect any "taste" to it like silica or cotton wicking. All I got was the flavor of the juice. The rediXwick is kind of spendy though, the best price I found was $8 a foot.
