Seems pretty clear, from REAL research, that vaping is at least 95% less harmful. "Safe"? Unknown, but vastly less harmful. Good enough for me!

The initial switch can be a challenge. Find some flavors you like - and don't restrict yourself to "tobacco" flavors. Find the nic level that works for you. I came from RYO as well, and for me 20 mg/ml worked. (That was long before the "smooth" salts came down the line.)

IF you mix, try going for a bit higher PG than VG, since it adds a bit of TH (throat hit), and carries the flavors better as well.

You don't mention what hardware you use, so hard to offer much more help.

And welcome to ECF :)

+1 to what DavidOck said. Yes, the evidence is clear that e-cigs are safeR. It's a major step in Harm Reduction compared to cigarettes. Also important to me - over 15+ years, there is no evidence of harm. With millions around the world using them, something would have shown up by now. The benefits of nicotine have been studied extensively as well.

I won't get started on the disinformation in the media. I look at those studies too, I'd like to know if there IS an issue. So far, when you dig into the details, it falls apart - poor methodology, not supported by the data in the study (!), or trying to claim an association as causation.

Where are you located? That can make a difference in how you can get access to hardware and flavors. Good equipment and the right flavor at the right nicotine level are essential to making the switch. What are you using now? It may take some trial and error to find what works best for you.

FWIW - I thought I'd want tobacco flavor. I was given a variety pack that included Tobacco, Vanilla, Cherry, and Mint. Much to my surprise it was the Vanilla, which I initially scoffed at, that did the trick for me. The others were meh. I've expanded my flavor ranges significantly since then.

Not "piling on" or anything, but I get decent TH at 18 mg/ml, 65(ish) PG, and mtl on a trusty KF2L, with a 1.5Ω coil.

And I can blow vape rings, too :)

That's been pretty much my exact same formula too for -

A very long time. :vapor:

Tried one hit off a real cig, sitting in an Elks club, sometime around 2014ish (or thereabouts). Let's just say that it was unpleasant. Vape won.

Oh trust us, high enough Nicotine level and atomiser you'll definitely get the hit.

Like 20mg/ml with a DTL tank like a Freemax Fireluke 4 with a coil at 0.15 ohms, you'll certainly feel that for sure.
Would definitely recommend that Fireluke 4. My favorite coils are the 904L X (also known as MaxLuke) coils. Dual coil 0.2 ohms gives great flavor and the 904L coils prime faster/more reliably than the older Freemax coils.

But seriously @Jojochainsmoker, the first thing you have to focus on is what kind of vaping style suits you.

MTL (Mouth To Lung), less vapour production and more airflow restriction on atomisers.

DTL (Direct To Lung), more vapour and little to no airflow restriction on atomisers.

Once you find out what suits you, then you can tailor the Nicotine level to your needs and slowly over time tweak it.

One suggestion when reading anything involving vaping is to find out who subsidized the study. Too often the trail can lead to big tobacco or big pharm who both have ulterior motives to keep people smoking cigarettes. Money.

Iv been smoking since I was 12 - 30 years ago , im finding it so hard to swap to an e cig plus do we really know they are better for us? I smoke rolling tobacco , just accidentally bought golden Virginia yello and can't feel that kick back it feel like smoking air grrr lol
I smoked cigarettes for the same amount of time, the only thing that got me to stop was vaping. After a week you'll start breathing better and get your sense of taste back, because you are not breathing in SMOKE. You need to find the right vapes and coils to be satisfied, some vapes are really MEH. When you sort it out right you will not even want a cigarette and will prefer vaping.
