Chain Vaper?? Need more support

I posted a message on this forum a few months back and received some great advice and support. Thanks for your help.

Since that message I have been closely monitoring my eliquid consumption and nicotine levels. What I have found out is that I use about 4.5ml of juice per day at 21.5mg/ml nicotine strength.

The problem is I vape from the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed. Like every five minutes I take a drag from my iClear 30. It is like I am a nervous wreck if I don't have my hit from the ecig every 5 minutes. I don't want to vape this much (or often), but I become very nervous and anxious if I don't have it. And in the end I think the nicotine makes my anxiety worse. And I feel like a total nicotine addict having to hit my pipe every 5 minutes or so.

I have twin 2.5 year old daughters who I spend a lot of time around which raises my stress level. I used to smoke 1.5 packs of cigarettes a day, and I know vaping is healthier, but I am just wondering if it is making my addiction and nerve problems worse. I make my own juice with supplies from Wizard Labs. 60/40 PG/VG mix with 4ml of watermellon flavoring per 30ml bottle.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? On one hand I love vaping, but on the other I feel like a complete addict and that the nicotine actually makes my nerves and anxiety worse. I guess I can be grateful that I quit smoking the regular cigarettes and that I cut my juice strength from 30+mg/ml to around 20mg/ml.

Relax! Twin girls 30 months old, say no more. You have made a life saving decision to quit. Focus on that. I've been doing this a long time and have only made it past five minutes not vaping while sleeping. I just looked down at my desk and see nine mods and have two spinners hanging around my neck. They are all loaded and cycled constantly to let one cool down while I'm using the next. I'm a low ohm, high nic, high watt, tank cracking chain vapor myself. I was recently saddened when Tasty Vapor decided to no longer carry my ADV Atomic Cinnacide in 48 mg. Needless to say they gave advance notice and I stocked up. I've been able to use lower levels in the drippers so I guess that's progress. You'll be fine, stay strong and think of the girls. Enjoy the day!:2cool:

When my hands aren't busy doing something mechanical or electronic I chain vape too. I used to have a marlboro hanging out of my mouth or a wad of Cope in my cheek while doing these same things pretty much all the time...the difference now is that if I have something like that to do I just work till it's done or until I'm done (whichever comes first!) and then I hit my vape. Rarely do I carry my mod around while doing anything remotely resembling work but in the past I rarely did anything resembling work WITHOUT my nic source.

So, yes--I also chain vape, but I find that actually I do a lot of things now without a constant flow of nic than I used to.

Dunno if that helps or not.

So you've been vaping for about 6-7 months? Sounds like you're doing pretty good. What kind of equipment are you using? It may be time to step up to something more efficient.

Also, what is a vaping session typically like for you? Remember that nicotine absorption while smoking is fast, you get pretty much the full amount within a few minutes. Absorption from vaping tends to be slower, and varies greatly based on your technique. I like to hold the vapor in my mouth for a few moments, then exhale either through my mouth, or through my nose if I feel like I want a bit more of the nicotine. Vaping, to me, feels like it's more about keeping a fairly steady supply of nicotine, just probably at a lower dose than when smoking.

I kinda do the same thing with 18mg nic juice now. Way more heavy in the morning when I wake up and have some coffee though.

I've been thinking about quitting entirely lately. If it would be easier just to limit my vaping until I can stop completely. I really miss smoking so much and how easy it was to just light one up and puff away. Just was tired of feeling horrible all the time and not breathing or smelling , tasting well.

When there is a bad vape day I find it so frustrating that I think I should just quit entirely. I'm feeling like I have become a slave to the e-liquid now in a way.

I may try and step down the nic gradually then quit vape cold turkey. I want to simplify my life.

So does that mean I am getting about 25mg of nicotine a day? .25 times 96.75 (total mg of nicotine).

Short of actually testing - which my MD won't do because he doesn't view this as medically relevant - that would be a good estimate on the low side. On the high side - closer to 33 mg's/day.

Remember it isn't the nicotine that causes all the harm, it's the tar and inhaling other "burning stuff" from smoking that does you in. Unless you are seriously questioning if you are heading toward nic OD from your vaping I wouldn't worry about it. You mentioned anxiety, but anyone dealing with twins probably in the throws of the terrible twos's... who wouldn't have anxiety? If it was anxiety in combination with elevated pulse rate, palpitations, physical manifestation of anxiety like hand tremor, difficulty sleeping - that may be something else. But again, half those symptoms could be attributed to... raising two and a half year old twins.

Look at it this way as well: If you weren't vaping right now, with what you are going through how much do you think you would be smoking at this point in time? Something to consider.

I smoked 2-3 packs fo Marlboro Reds a day and chewed 2-3 bags of Red Man a week. It was super hard to quit since I was doing both at the same time. So the nic instake I had was alot. I started off with 36-38nic level. I was satisfied with that but it still didn't seem to be enough. I had urges/cravings for about 1-2 months. After I got over the hump I knocked my nic down to 24. I plan in the future to go lower and lower. Im' just taking it 1 day at a time. You have 2 wonderful children. You are much better off vaping than smoking (2nd hand smoke is not good for anyone around you).

I myself since I been off cigs so long it's not a priority for me to vape. I can go days without it and have 0 problems. But I vape for the enjoyment. I mean vaping a nice tasting juice or the taste of an ashtry? It's a no brainer. Good luck to you. I hope you get past that stage.
