I think a pod or an AIO would be a perfectly useful device-- for you. That's kind of given the amount and way you smoked, and I would agree on figuring out a nic level that has you satiated "when you need it" which should be infrequently. You may want a HIGH nic level, but one not so high you find yourself using it more than you smoked.

That one is a bit of a mystery to me, so I'd say get some high nic and 0 nic in the same flavor so you can mix at different percentages in small amounts to see what works.

Stress is by no means the only reason people start smoking. It wasn't MY reason, although yea, the stress cigarette is the one that can be hardest for me to avoid.

Good luck and happy vaping. Just remember, you didn't smoke a lot so you may not need to vape a lot. either. Remember. at this point vaping is harm reduction, not harm elimination. Although perhaps at first you MAY vape more just to compensate for what is in CIGS and is actually the true stress reliever: the minor alkaloids (which include tar) but certain the rest of the plant. They are MAOI substances that offer antidepressant and anti anxiety effects.

Start, see how you go,. and well, there are eliquids which can be purchased that contain the alkaloids. They are pricey. But you mention stress. so I mention it. But plenty of time for that down the road if it is EVEN necessary which it may well not be.

Good luck!

Hi everyone
I just signed in the forum since I would like to buy a vape to get over my use of nicotine.
I'm a really nervous person, that gets annoyed pretty often for any reason, that's why I smoke since if something bothers me and I don't have a cigarette I might keep thinking and bothering about it for days (and in the worst case I don't even sleep). I've been using cigarettes this way for a couple of years without getting addicted, but recently I'm getting way too heavy with the nicotine and I realize that I have to quit as soon as possible before it becomes an addiction.
I don't know anything about vape, that's why I'm asking you: what would you advise? Any kit in particular or E-juice?
I'm also new to the forum and vaping, and yes research helped me a lot. Took my time to learn the basics, and didn't rush it. I used to smoke about a pack a day, now I'm down to one or none. Big thanks to the wealth of information here at ECF, and some YouTube channels for visual aid. Open Pod system is what I'd recommend, but do your research before committing to anything, some pod systems give you the control of the airflow and some don't. Good luck, and welcome to ECF

Welcome Divi! I would say, like others have said, the best way to start would be a pod system. A box mod, RDA, etc. would be overkill and too complicated to a beginner vaper at the very start of their vaping journey. The Smok Nord would be a good option since its easy to use, maintain, and offer both a mouth-to-lung experience (similar to smoking, where the smoke is drawn into the mouth and then inhaled into the lungs) and a direct lung lung option (where the vapor is inhaled directly into the lungs). Their cheaper as well than a box mod or many other options.

As for nicotine, I'd say go for a low amount, probably 3mg or 6mg, no more than 10mg. Since you're not that dependant on it (you seem to smoke WAY less than I did, when I smoked, I smoked like a chimney) I'd say stay away from salt nic as that has nicotine in much higher concentrations.

Good luck on your vape adventures and we're always just a message away! :)

Hello @Divi, if it hasn't been mentioned yet. You have to find out what style of vaping suits you, are you MTL (Mouth To Lung) which is more similar to smoking style or DTL (Direct To Lung) where you inhale larger amounts of vapour?

A good cheap way to find out is find a local vape shop with a juice/liquid tasting bar and make a point to drop in and try some liquids and gear, so that you can work out what things may interest you. Both gear and liquids.
